Hood pins on 88 RS
The hood release in my car started giving out. i would have to pull the release then fight the hood to get it to p[op up. so i just took out the release and mechanism and replaced it with the hood lock pins. opinions?

I personally like the aero latches better, maybe those pins would look better black?

Re: Hood pins on 88 RS
When I got my car I would have to fight the hood to get it to open. All I had to do was spray some WD-40 over the latch mechanism. It has opened fine since then.
But the hood pins look fine.

WD40 works wonders on 3rd gen hood latches, did on mine, the pins are not bad.

Re: Hood pins on 88 RS
Buggy disaster thanks for the reply as always. Mean z28 as well. Dd9transam I'm not to big of a fan of the aero latches but every mans car to his own am I right haha. But thanks everyone for the opinions. I'm going for the rally car look because I have a really dependable 78 f100 ford truck I restored and this third gen is more of my car I want to soupe up and whoop people on the back roads. But still have it as a show car and a project I can be proud of. Any help and opinions you all have are greatly appreciated and hopefully the opinions will keep coming. And random ideas y'all have pitch them my way by all means. Thanks again

Re: Hood pins on 88 RS
thats not a low rise z28 spolier, it's the spoiler from a 88 sport coupe...which his car probably is. That spoiler was discontinued part way through the year in favor of the more common three piece lip spolier.
