Foglights....what looks good on a thirdgen?

I want some foglights on my Camaro....but I can't find the perfect set. Most of what's on the market is round/oval and blue, and look like they'd be too Euro-looking. I'm not sure if these would look good or not, or if I should get round or square, or what. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, and I definately want an amber beam. If anyone has pics of foglights on your Camaro please post them...thanks.

The best I've ever seen on a Camaro were actually behind the grille. The whole grill glowed. I passed it going down the road, and never saw it again. It's worth thinking about.

the fog lights on my iroc were pretty beat up so i bought a set of amber. after a while it got old and cheap looking so i just bought some new stock ones from GM. Square and white is the only way to go.

I'd have to agree with prepz28. I've seen several kinds and still think the GM ones look best. In my opinion, if you go stock you can't go wrong.

Blazer makes a set of $20 fogs available at Wal Mart that have the exact same external dimensions and appearance as the stock Trans AM lights. They're a little different than the stock IROC lights, but still not tacky like all that round purple crap that the ricers use.

in one of the recent "truckin" magazines they had a company that sold bowtie shaped fog lights in different colors...including clear....i think they would look good behind a billet grill on the camaro's

I mouted a set of $50 dollar Crappy Tire ones (Canadian members know what I am talking about) on the stock grill and wired it into the old fogs. looks great in the slots and shoots about three times the candlepower!

I HAVE THESE! They're BRIGHT!!!! Strains the alternator a lil bit tho. Brighter than the low beams. I think cruising around at dusk these would look awesome.

Interesting...I think I have those. I bought a set at Walmart recently, by Blazer and like $19.99, that is the rectangular style, the lens is clear but has a bluish tinge, and they project an amber beam. They had white ones too so this is probably what you're talking about. I bought those a few weeks ago, but then second-guessed myself on how they'd look. I also didn't like the fact that you had to drill in the front bumper to mount them. I was hoping to find something that would mount to the billets in the grill without the need to alter the bumper.

Drill the front bumper? If your car has ground effects, there's already a stock location that you can mount them in, and if you don't have ground effects, there are 2 plastic thingies under the bumper that make a PERFECT spot to mount the fogs on a firebird.

I bought my car with the foglights. Pretty nice ones, they're rectangular. One half is clear, the other is amber. The switch it came with has two settings. Drivnig and Fog. Too bad one bothered to hook them up.

I prefer the stock ones. I used the old GM discount at 65.00 for mine. Even then it seemed alot. But it's all worth it I guess.

I got creative and used the stock foglights, but with different bulbs. I ground and bent the beackside a bit, and now I I have cool blue 9005 hi-beam lamps in there. they are a bit yellow though, apparently my wiring skills aren't the best. That's my guess.

Problem with stock foglights is that my car is an SC, so it currently has no foglights....I think the cost of genuine replacement IROC ones could be better spent on something aftermarket. Also, I think a yellower light is in order since it's a yellow car.

My Z28 came with some huge *** fogs that dont even belong on there, so i went out and bought fourth gen. style fogs, they are a little more rectangular than stock iroc fogs, but they look great.

i just recently bought a Z28 style grille for my RS and got some cheapo pep boys special "RALLY" brand driving lights for 20 bucks.they look pretty much just like the stock ones, except the glass is kinda different,it doesnt have as many lines in it.but they work great and came with a cool lighted switch.but yeah definetely go for stock style lights, and not ***** style.

Yall know what the best fog lights are? FREE! I accidently stole some 1 time, I mean purposely. Still got 'em. Don't be like me, though! You'll get yourself in a lot of trouble! I might mount them on my camaro, though.

watch out for those kits you see in the auto parts store.
those profile ones with eithr blue or yellow, oval shapes, cost about 60 bucks for the set.

they suck man, they com with everything, including the wiring.

they do look good but after you realize the blubs blow out once a month, and at 7 buck each for the bulb.

then after about the third time of changing bulbs the housing inside the light melts and burns it self up.

problem is those things are real nice heavy metal, with that thick lens that give you a good beam, but being like that, they get too hot inside.

was a total waste of 60 buck plus 3 sets of bulbs and the last set of bulbs didnt work cause the suckers melted them self.

now could be the cheap wiring they give you, but dam them things suck.

aftermarket fog lights?? please......the only fog lights that look good on a third gen are the ones that come factory on them, n e thing else just looks like some kids camaro, not a beautifully restored thirdgen. Oem fog lights cost a price too, i just got a set from the dealer for my white 86 trans am and after all the hardware it cost over 300$
