Looks clean man, the seats and 85-90 Tail lights look great on there. Reminds me of my friends 84 Trans Am HO

Although, ditch those wheels I think some GTA or T/A crosslace wheels would look good on there, and you can pick them up really cheap on eBay.

also wouldnt hurt to loose the body molding and do the mirrors and spoiler white, i know OEM they are black but white would make the whole car look smoother.......again IMO

If you've got money to spend I'd say, paint the whole car black. Or paint those mirrors and spolier white. ANd whatever you do, just paint those Inserts now. Why loose them, they would probably be cool if white or black.

Ahh, its good to see a fellow 82 owner! I really like the 85+ T/A tail lights. And the 4th gen seats look pretty good also. Nice ride!

THanks for all the positive replies. I had originally planned on painting the door trim, spoiler, and mirrors white, but decided i need to repaint the entire car, so it will wait until then. New wheels are on the way too. As for the red inserts, those will probably stay. I think they give the car a uniqe look. They were there when i bought the car, and i was considering putting lights behind them, or electroluminescent panels like a backlight. They used to be clear red, and you could see the mounting hardware and the shock absorption material through them, so i had a friend at a sign shop put 30% translucent white vinyl on the backs to give it a more opaque look.
I paid 1500 for it btw, had an lg4, carb needed rebuild, went to tpi instead, and a tacky-*** sunfaded camel cloth interior. also a th350 and an open rear, which were changed to t5 and posi 3.23. If i hadnt rushed into it, because it was the first car i bought myself, i would have researched a little more, becuas i would have preferred an 85-90 T/A. Anyways, the body on this was MINT so i couldnt pass it up.

Here are some more pics from the restoration/swap i did during the winter of 2000-01.

Here is my donor car, an 86 ta, 70s 350 block, and good gray interior. You can tell by the front drivers side why it was a donor.

My car with the faulty qjet and lg4 and th350.

A garage filled with thirdgens is a beautiful sight.

Swapping the stock 2.73 open rear to a 3.23 posi rear. And yes, this was done in the dead of winter, so nobody ask whats all that white stuff? BTW, i cut off those 4th gen tips, if anyone wants to buy them.

My ghetto-fabbed transmission crossmember. The 82 would have come with a muncie 4 speed, so the t5's mount ended up being about 2 inches too far back.

tell me you also got the gfz and other misc. panels from the newer TA. looks good, though not as flashy as the newer ones.put a good new white paint job on it, and it'll make all the heads turn, even the ppl with gfx, fogs, and other newer parts.

I think the red grille inserts might look good if there was other trim/parts of the car that were also red. Or not...
