Best Metal Polish

Well, I have been playing around with the different polishes. Here's what I found.

Eagle One (one with jewelers rouge). Excellent shine, Comes off easier than most, has a good shelf life.

Never Dull (eagle one as well I believe). Pretty good shine, don't need one towel to apply and one to take off since it comes in cotton like form. Shelf life is great, works well.

Mothers - Pretty good shine, horrible shelf life, doesn't matter if I tighten it as hard as I can, within a month the top will be yellow.

Blue Magic - Blue...looks cool. Good shelf life, decent shine, worse than mothers. Always seems to leave some kind of haze on it.

These are all that I've tried so far. I know the the buffing compounds (tripolio, followed by white rouge and jewelers) will bring out the best shine, but that contains alot of work and costs alot more.

And polishes like Flitz and Wenol have to be ordered half the time and cost twice as much as the ones above for a less amount. Still want to play around with them though.

Others I was not a fan of, Auto-Sol... minor scratching, Turtle Wax... sucked.

Any others, or opinions welcomed.

i use brasso on my rims and it works pretty good. the harder/longer you rubb them the cleaner they get. i also have tried rubbing mothers aluminum polish using 4 odd steel wool to get the small scratches/water stains out.

Ive used CAM metal polish. Its a liquid polish that works alot easier than mothers...no need to rub hard to get a good shine.

I'll probably get around to trying flitz in the near future. Mothers does leave a little haze, not nearly as bad as blue magic however. I'm still a big fan of Eagle One products. The never dull and the paste are very good for cost.

I gave flitz a try. Good stuff. The liquid polish (3.4oz) ran me 5.30$ at a local store. It goes quickly. I would ran it up there with any of the other polishes. Has ZERO haze, very very easy to take off, and shine like never before. Good stuff, only bad thing is it doesn't seem to have much effect on anything other than light amounts of dirt/brake dust and so on. It would not be good to try and restore anything. But then again, it doesn't say anywhere on it that it's a great restorer.

I have now have wizard, I've also tried flitz. Never tried some of the others though.

But my car is in the shop, I'll give wizards a try when I get it back. My original statement above was written last Nov., someone brought this back from the dead.
