If a thirdgen owner were capable of doing something nice to their car, they'd get the same magnitude opinion, but in the opposite direction.

Colour temperature ('K') vs brightness...
It is a common misconception that higher colour temperatures (K’s) produce brighter lights. This is not true. The colour temperature only determines the colour but not the brightness of the HID light. The Colour Temperature is simply a scale represented by the Kelvin Temperature Chart (hence the abbreviation “K” or “K’s”) as decpited above that measures the colour of the light output. Typically, the higher the colour temperature, the closer you get to achieving bluish to purplish light colours.

so they would be brighter than incandescents.....

 

The most effective HIDs have a temperature of 4300-6000K.

Put in a set of 4300K white lights, then a set of 10,000K purple lights and tell me which ones provide better light output.

Logic would follow that the whitest light would yield the best visibility. Hence, mid-range HIDs yield the best output.

The 10000K HID Bulb has an approximate output of 2200 lumens. You will have to sacrifice a little bit of brightness (still more than 2 times brighter than a standard halogen bulb) compared to the lower K outputs.

where you actually going for green lights? or was that an accident with the yellow film?

and BTW, i thought 10k was purple? why are your lights white (from the other thread?

 

10000K: Bluish-green light
12000K: Bluish-purplish light.

it varies some... avg id say 10k is more blue 12k is more purple

 

Could only think of the Black Beauty from Green Hornet when I saw this. I like. Again, not very practical probably, but still cool.

Kind of cool. I'd never do it to mine and I hope you don't cruise around like that. Just asking to get ticketed, but it's a cool experiment.

 

yeaa..it was done on accident..im a damn graphic designer and didnt even think of it -__- wasnt trying to match the fogs..although they do..i just like the look..so im gonna buy some different coloured bulbs..probably 6k..then ill have yellow lights
