Safely Removing Burnout Tar
My burnout tar is beginning to not come off with a little elbow grease on my quarter pannel's. I used WD-40 once and that did the trick but is there any other way that may be easier on the paint?

Re: Safely Removing Burnout Tar
Try bug & tar remover? May take a few apps.
I've heard that gas can be used, never done it, but--
Soak a rag with gas, rub it on, use a dry rag to wipe it off, don't leave it on too long or it'll star to go thru the clear coat. Wear nitrile gloves if you try it.
When you get it off, use a clay bar, then a couple apps of wax, which will make it a lot easier to clean.

Turtule wax sells a nice on in the wax section, made with citrus.
Removes stuff like that quick and you know it won't hurt the finish.

WD-40 followed with a lil dawn dish soap then use regular car wash soap..
you can also use dieselfuel for the 1st step.
There used to be a company that sold Burnout guard.. put it on b4 hand and wash it off w water.. dunno if they are still around or not.

Re: Safely Removing Burnout Tar
dish soap will strip wax, should never wash a car with it.
hair shampoo is a better choice if you don't have car wash soap.
