Optimum No-Rinse

Ok, guys....I am an obsessive auto detailer and typically wash my cars 3-4 times a week during the summer. For years I was disappointed with the horrible hard city water we have at my house. I would spend the time hand-washing the car only to have all my hard work marred by white chalkiness. I tried everything- washing one panel at a time, bucketless car washes, Mr. Clean Auto Dry, etc. and nothing worked. Finally, I did some research and it was suggested to me to try Optimum No-Rinse from Autogeek.com. Well, three years ago I did and it was the best auto-detailing choice I have ever made hands down. The process is simple:

1) Buy the best microfiber wash mitt or microfiber sponge available and a microfiber waffle-weave drying towel
2) Follow the instructions exactly on the bottle!
3) Place two capfuls of product in a bucket and add two gallons of warm water (note: you can halve this- one capful, one gallon- if you have a less-dirty job)
4) You will have a bluish-tinged bucket of water that smells clean and fresh
5) Head out to your car with the bucket, wash mitt/sponge, and the microfiber towel
6) Quickly wipe down one panel at a time starting with the roof and glass. After you get each panel wiped, quickly follow with the drying towel and wipe gently until dry (the water should be beading up and simple to wipe off). Tip: I throw the drying towel over my shoulder so it stays out of the dirt and is immediately available after washing
7) When finished, stand back and admire your work

This should only take 10-20 minutes to wash an average size car. I would not use this method to wash a very dirty car (such as one covered in mud or salt) but it is great for a car spotted by rain, dust, or just general road grime it will not scratch your car. I've used it on many different cars in all colors (including dark colors) with no scratching (including my DD- a crystal red 2010 CTS). In fact, it seems to add a "just polished" look to the paint. I've even brought along a gallon jug of this to a car show and touched up my car spotted by rain on the way there. It is amazing stuff! You will not be disappointed. Just make sure you can quickly wipe the panel dry and that you use very high quality microfibers only! No hose needed!
