Thats just what the owner is calling it..

It's an Autoform Conversion.

Re: 1984 Camaro Z28 "Special Edition - Batmobile Roadster"

I dont remember the exact specs but they made under a thousand of those but the Batman edition thing is just something the owner thought would be cool to call it. Think of it this way, are all the 82 Firebirds that have been turned into "Kitt" known from the factory as the Kitt edition Firebird?

Of COURSE I did! How is an '84 autoform 'vert being sold on ebay not relevent? This is almost the exact same. Even the same color, AND the owner is calling it a "Batmobile".

Seemed to be a RELATED topic...

I ALSO HAVE A "BATMOBILE CAMARO". BOUGHT IT A FEW YEARS BACK. MINE ONLY HAS 18k FOR MILES. CAME FROM AN ELDERLY BACHELOR IN CALIFORNIA.

Re: 1984 Camaro Z28 "Special Edition - Batmobile Roadster"

Did the guy call it a batmobile or did he just say it was an autoform? I think they get called that because of the double-bubble behind the seats.

Re: 1984 Camaro Z28 "Special Edition - Batmobile Roadster"

MINE IS AN AUTOFORM. IT HAS A SMALL PLAQARD (SP?) ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE REAR BUMPER THAT SAYS: AUTOFORM, ELKHART INDIANA. I ALSO HAVE THE DELIVERY PAPERS SHOWING THE COST. IT WAS $30+K. LIKE SOMEONE ELSE STATED EARLIER, THEY WERE WITHIN A FEW DOLLARS OF A VETTE. IMHO, MY "CORMARO", AS I HAVE NICK NAMED IT, WILL BE WORTH MANY TIMES THE WORTH OF A VETTE 50 YEARS DOWN THE ROAD. I'VE HAD IT AT SEVERAL CAR SHOWS AND VERY FEW CAMARO FANS HAVE EVER SEEN ONE BEFORE.

Re: 1984 Camaro Z28 "Special Edition - Batmobile Roadster"

I WAS WONDERING HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE FOR SOMEONE TO ASK THAT QUESTION. STORY IS: THE BACHELOR THAT BOUGHT THE CAR NEW, WAS AN "ANYTHING EAGLES FAN". EAGLES THE BAND, EAGLES THE TEAM(S) ETC. ETC. ETC.; SO, HE PUT THE CLOSEST THING TO AN EAGLE HE COULD FIND ON HIS CAR. I HAVE BEEN MEANING TO PULL THE EMBLEM OFF TO SEE IF THAT EMBLEM AND THE CAMARO EMBLEM HAVE THE SAME PIN SPACING, AND, IF SO, I WAS GOING TO PUT THE CAMARO BADGE BACK ON. JUST HAVEN'T TAKEN THE TIME TO DO IT. IT DOES GET SOME WIERD LOOKS AT CAR SHOWS AND LOTS OF QUESTIONS. MAYBE SOMEONE OUT THERE CAN TELL ME IF THE PIN SPACING IS THE SAME. WHEN I FIRST LOOKED AT THE CAR IN A DIMLY LIT GARAGE, I DIDN'T KNOW IF I WAS LOOKING AT A CAMARO OR A FIREBIRD EITHER TILL I POPPED THE QUESTION ABOUT THE BIRD.
