Repro tail-light lense or NOS Lenses
My question is whats the real difference? Is it worth it to spend an extra $150-$200 on the GM ones?
I was on MDM earlier and noticed they were at a limited availability(discontinued) & I found a set of repros at Youngsfbody.com
I have searched & searched but I cannot find any info on this.
Also has anyone both a pair of repros? If so how are they holding up?
Thanks

You can never go wrong with the GM ones. The MDM ones at $200 a pop are the best deal you'll find for GM ones, bar none. Once the GM ones are gone, that's it. I can't speak to any repros that may or may not be available, but given the quality of most repro parts for our cars, I wouldn't get your hopes up. The seals may not seal as good as the GM ones.
Also, Young's F-body is a shady operation, so I'd avoid them at all costs.

Appreciate the heads up & I was going to get the GM ones but noticed they were a limited supply so I need to call them up monday morning to see if they have some ready to ship.
Not made of money tho so if someone can atest to having bought some reproduction lenses from a good company I will buy em.
I also need stripes & Iroc-Z sticker anyone know of a trustworthy place that sells the one for the black & gold set-up?
Thanks

Thanks for the heads-up on Pheonix Graphics, ordered decals & stripes from them.
Now debating weather I should get new tail-light lenses for 400 or leather 4thgen seats for the same price.
Would'nt happen to know where I can find the seats would ya?

they are soft and buff out fast. and look like glass when done!

i wouldnt even consider paying that kind of money for tail lights. especially with all the 3rd gens out there, wrecked, junkyard, ect. spend your time cleaning the old ones up and they will looking like a million bucks. and you get the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself !
money doesnt grow on trees lol spend your money wisely lol
personally, id go for the 4th gen seats if its between the lights or the seat

def. gonna buff em out I saw an article on that earlier today, problem is they both have cracks. I found a junk-yard in town that specializes in camaros, I am gonna head down there and see if I can pick up a set thats not cracked & clean up real good.
Puma what is it exactly your looking for?

I need seat upholstery and door panels for the black custom cloth interior.
I'd be wary of buffing out the tail lights, they are just going to get hazy in time. The way I justified the cost was by realizing that lights make one of the biggest differences in how a car looks, and those tail lights are big and prominent, they are the biggest thing on the rear anyone's going to see.
The junkyard is worth a shot though, if they clean up good, cool, and if they don't or they haze out, then you can always get a NOS set, while they last.

Yep considering I'm not gonna drive it to much anymore I think if I can clean up a set really good they should not haze up too bad again. & if they do I can just clean em again. At the end of the day I will do what I gotta do to make the car look better, so if I have to go with some N.O.S ones I will.
