help with gta wheels
hey everyone, im still new to thirdgen.org but not new to 3rd gen f bodys. i have a 1992 trans am that i have owned for 14 years and slowly been working on. the car looks and runs great but the wheels could use some TLC. im going to sometime soon use the bush on aircraft paint stripper to remove the clear coat off the wheels. my question is i have seen people do this with iroc wheels and they turned out great. has anyone ever done this with gta wheels and how did they turn out?

Re: help with gta wheels
It works but it can be a PITA. Takes a while and it is a mess. If you have the option, have the wheels blasted instead. It will get it much cleaner much quicker. Just make sure to use the right blast media. Using something too aggressive will pit the outer lip and it will be tougher to polish back to a shine. Try glass beads, thats normally what I use on aluminum.

One thing though... if you do a search on "GTA wheel Refurbish" or something like that, you'll find a crap pile of knowledge. Don't launch too hard if you find my thread on it.
