What color powder coating for my LT1 intake (thidgen swap)

Well i'm putting together my heads/cam/6spd swap. The wiring is done, the car currently runs with bolt-ons.

However, I'm doing a heads/cam/6spd swap now and the TB and Intake are being ported and polished, then powder coated.

So I have a white car, white engine bay. What color for the TB and intake?

Part of me wonders about blue with polished rails and fins because its a pontiac. White wouldn't look good and despite powder coating it would be a pain to clean. There is always black too.

Opinions!

Why not pick what color you like and will be happy with since it's your car and money ?

Never said I'd follow suggestions, but I am looking for recommendations.

Red would look good, but everyone would ask if it was a LT4.

White base with polished fins and rails could also look good.

I like the blue intake idea. That would look sweet. blue intake, polished runners, blue valve covers, aluminum heads. sounds good to me

blue would look good but only if it accents other areas on your car. do u have red plug wires and red emblems? go red. or go with whatever other color is already on your car that it could accent. im going black and silver because thats what my paint scheme is going to be.

Grey plug wires, dark grey boots, black valve covers, grey this, grey that, grey everything. White bay in need of repaint.

There is no color in the bay. Hence why this is making me think about it. I'm introducing color, and it has nothing to coordinate with.

What color interior? You paint your brake calipers? What color is the block? CAI or stock TPI box? everything has got to coordinate

Black won't stick out as much as a painted color if everything else is gray, black, or white but black does look great with a lot of polished aluminum in an engine bay. I've done dark blue spray paint before on a Lt1 intake and it looks pretty sharp. Search images on google and see what you like though. People have painted these intakes in many different colors.

Grey, black grey, grey, some more grey, lots of grey, more grey..........

Like I said, there isn't a SINGLE lick of color in the bay except for a crappy white factory engine bay.

With that, I wouldnt get into a bright off the wall color unless you matched other things. If you went black on the intake then the whole top end of the motor is black with the valve covers being black. I dont think that would look too good. too much black. I'd probably leave the intake a cast aluminum color to break up the black valve covers and to go with the rest of the car's grey.

I say polish the HELL out of it, clear powdercoat it and there you go! No one ever says "Yeah, but did you see all that tacky shiny stuff?..." LOL, Just my opinion...

black, black, black, black,oh and black.

then just polish other items, any powdercoat that may get hit with fuel or oil can turn yellow-ish, so the clears and fake chromes are out. Nothing finer than gloss black with some polished fuel rails and polish the top of the intake ribs as well. Trust me it'll look the best especially on that egg shell white colored car

Thank you! Every time someone says "powdercoat" I think of the original "Mag-light"... Which is a good thing! I dropped my 3 cell inside a Tanker I was driving several years ago (Was unleaded gasoline and then methanol.) It sat in there 3 weeks before I had a chance to get it out and there was nothing wrong with the finish. I think it may have to do with the quality of the powdercoating. There is also the anodizing method for an even more durable finish. I have a mini-mag light that has the most amazing color; Kind of a grey with a slight purple haze. I believe the color is called titanium.
