Notchback hatch found at salvage yard... anyone interested?

I ran across a firebird (I think GTA) with a notchback hatch in a salvage yard today. What is the going price for these? Is anyone interested in buying one? I'd buy it for myself if I weren't already doing a custom body job that precludes it...

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about:

The paint is cracked badly in a couple places, but I think it is okay otherwise... How much is this thing worth? I don't want to pay the salvage yard more than what I can get for it.

Nice to see you're using my car to illustrate your point....

Most of these decklids sell for anywhere from $500-$800 on the used market if they are in good shape, from what I've seen.

Luckily I was able to get my extra one for the one-day-only, extra-extra-special price of $150....

i will take it $200 or just pay what the salvage yard charges you and then some probably can get hundred people to pay you more than that though, just wondering if any other thing wronge with it other than paint? glass still good? still seems somewhat in good condition? thats pretty rare, any other things on the car that are worth anything?

Well, I only took a brief look at it. I was with a salvage yard guy looking for something else when I happened upon it, so I didn't examine it really closely (I didn't want to make a big deal of it either, if you know what I mean). From what I could tell, the only thing wrong with it was the paint job cracking. The glass looked fine.

I've gotten some e-mails from people interested, so I'm going to go back in a day or so and take pictures/buy it... what else is really worth taking? I think I read somewhere that the back seats on notchbacks were different, too... anything else?

Definately snag the back seats too.

I'd hurry up. I'll bet it's already gone.

Ok, I snagged it, but it doesn't appear to be a stock notchback. The deck on this one is flat.

From the pictures I've seen around there is ridge running down the deck of an original notchback hatch, right?

Yes, the OEM Notchback decklid has a raised crease running down the center.... you can just barely see a hint of it in the photo of my car you posted above.

Look right up against the rear glass; you can see the reflection of the crease line in the finish.

I'm sure you'll still be able to turn a profit even on an aftermarket piece though. Just don't try to pass it off as an original.
