paint confusion

so im respraying my 89 firebird

the code sticker has gone but i find out the paint code is 87 (plus in one code on the job sheet says 87 so i figure its right) i did find a site that listed every paint code and corresponding ditzler, dupont and sherwin williams codes but damn i cant find it now, fortunately i wrote down what i needed. (anyone know it?)
the problem was there were two colours listed for code 87 - one was gunmetal (WA9243) and the other says smoke grey (WA9536) - which is it? and checking dupont it says theres 5 variants to the gunmetal, plus neither seem to be the bottom colour.
any help would be appreciated.

Re: paint confusion

I dont know off hand but I can check the chips at work on Monday and get back to you.Unless someone else chimes in....
The 5 variations are different shades of the same color to help with color match. That silver is going to be a different code that will be for a 2 tone.I can find that too on our computer. We use RM but I can cross reference the code for dupont for you if thats what you plan to use. :-)

Re: paint confusion

yea that would be good thanks! dupont code if you can. and yea the variants seem to differ, some appear more red, others more blue...
if only i had that blasted code sticker it would be very useful! really dont understand why there are two gunmetals
and thanks for the link scorpner, the compnine decoder didnt work but the diagrams are especially useful, my haynes manual is so vague and chiltons just has the same pictures but smaller!
