Polished rims???

Polished rims???
Hey guys post pics of your polished IROC rims. If you did them yourself, how hard was it??? And did u clearcoat them after u were finished. Any corossion???

Here's before and after pix of mine.

I polished them by hand and I'd say it took forever, but that would be an understatement. I'd estimate about 5 hours per wheel. By the 4th wheel I was starting to get the hang of it though. I got a some stuff from Eastwood Co. that I could put on a buffing wheel and use to take the machined grooves out. I used a drill for the buffing wheel so it was kinda slow-going, but definitely better than doing it by hand with sandpaper. Then 1000 grit sandpaper and xxfine steel wool. Finished them off with a coat of Mothers. I didn't clear-coat them because I was afraid it would take away the shine. I just put a little wax on them to protect them. I figure I'll have to polish them periodically to keep the metal from corroding.
