breathing new life into this 84 camaro

I picked up this car as a rolling chassis back in january, she was pretty hurting. front clip was pretty much half bondo, floors have some pretty nasty holes in them, interior came out after removing 3 bolts, spoiler smashed, and the someone put the ugliest hood scoop on her. was on it's way to the scrap yard had to save it.

well, i plan to give her some new life, gutted the interior, gunna fix them holes and make the best i can out of the money i got. i plan on building the entire interior out of sheet metal, roll bar, i want it to look like a 3rd gen-general lee ( big 04 on the door :P)

so far i've managed to pick up an entire front clip and hood from an 88 z28, got the side ground effects from a buddy. got most of the holes patched up, just gotta do some more body work and drop in a drivetrain, and a new windshield. it aint gunna be no trailer queen thats for sure, i'm 20 and i like to go fast and drift dirt road corners.

back in january, nice hood scoop eh?

as of today.

heres a new pic did some quick bodywork and gave er a shot of primer

What did you do to the hood? You could make a good amount of change for it with the blisters. I am sure the blisters would fetch $85-$100 and hood for $120-$200. I see its the uglier style and has no curve on it, I don't like the Daytona flat version.

More pictures would be nice, besides the 04 on the side and interior, good work!

i still got the hood in the barn, definately will be looking to make some change on it, looks very nice on your car. i'll be posting more pics as it progresses, money is a bit of an issue for me right now college made it all go away...

Re: breathing new life into this 84 camaro

put up a new pic, anyways ive been thinkin on it, the interior was complete garbage when i took it out, this car has been passed around more times than the town hooker. every damn piece was cracked and the carpet had what i think is puke on it... i think... and i found some dead mice under the back seats.

thinkin i might pick up written off donor car to get myself some interior, or maybe head up to sunset auto in toronto, ive heard they have a wicked amount of 3rd gen parts. all i need now in terms of bodywork, it to mount the side ground effects and do a patchjob on the spoiler, i also need to weld in a mounting bracket for the front quarter, it had been grounded out at some point and its gone... lol

the floor has some holes in er, gunna cut out the major areas and weld in some sheetmetal, all the small wholes im just gunna go over with marglass and then give it all a shot of tremclad. like i said before this isnt gunna be a "clean" car, and i dont have the money to put into it.

The drivetrain is where i want most of the money to be, awhile ago i helped a buddy build up a 838 stroker for his 85 chev shortbox, she runs 13s on the quarter, i recken if i threw that drivetrain in this puppy she would run 12s quite easily.
