custom paint on a daily driver?
I tried this in the body forum, but got no thoughts.
Does anybody have a costom paint job on a daily driver?
What kind of paint do you have and how is it standing up?
I am just not sure if I should go with a awsome kandy or pearl job or stick with good old base clear.
Thanks

I've had several friends with custom candy/pearl paint jobs and they all ended up with rock chips on the front of their rides. It's just so hard to fill-in rock chips with that type of paint.

You could always get this stuff. We had a show car drive across Australia with this painted on, protected his paint & he won some prizes.

Re: custom paint on a daily driver?
Now that the paint is over 5 years old on my Camaro, I've loosened up on how cautious I am when driving it (it used to never see rain, or be parked outside all night just to name a couple). In the summer I'll drive it often, and in the past couple summers it's been out more than it's been in the garage. Honestly, the paint blemishes that exist today all stemmed from the first year or two when a couple unlucky bumps, dings, and scrapes occurred.
BTW: It's a tri-stage Candy paint job...still holds it's deepness really well when I have her all cleaned up!
