1989 IROC Camaro Hood Louvers/Blisters
Hello All,
I searched the forum a bit and came up empty.
I have a stock hood 1989 IROC Camaro with the stock louvers. I would like to replace them with something else, blisters etc... and have a couple questions I was hoping someone could help me with:
Will the 91-92 hood blisters bolt on (into) the stock 1989 IROC hood depressions?
Anybody know of aftermarket options for the stock 1989 hood?
Thanks all for your help!

louvers and blister are interchangeable....only difference is louvers sit inside depression and blister sit over them.

I don't think they are interchangeable!
All the louvers I've seen, the depression in the hood starts smooth (flat) with the hhod at the front, and ends smooth with the hood at the rear.
BUT - the blisters do not end flat - they are deeper at the rear than they are at the front - all the ones I've seen were almost 1in deep at the rear - the louver hoods don't have any depression anywhere more than 1/2in that Ive seen. And thus the hood must have a different depression in it for a blister than a louver.

I thought they were interchangeable. Now you have me wondering. I would like to take the louvers off of mine and replace them with blisters then do a heritage style stripe. The louvers look a little too cheesie.

as far as swapping between louvers and blisters they are interchangeable, I've had both on my car (as have many other members)
*if the hood you have came with blisters or louvers ...you can use blisters or louvers ur choice

No - not the early hoods - the later ones was what I meant.
Well, I wasn't for sure - I've never swapped them before to know. But just looking at them and their design, I would have guessed they would not swap.
And I hated to see anyone leap before they look, so I thought I'd play the devil's advocate here and post my thought that maybe they don't swap - good thing I didn't bet the farm! LOL

Hey I live on Whidbey too. What are you gonna do with the louvers? Are they in good shape? I might be interested in buying them from you.

I have the same hood I believe. Iroc daytona hood from harwood. Anyways I bought the 85-90 hood louvers, I was hoping you help me with the location to drill the holes to mount them? Even the dimensions of the outside holes then I could figure out the rest.
If you don't know those numbers, do you know where I could get them?
