Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
Not supposed to be green - supposed to be teal. In this pic it looks more teal, but in reality it looks a tad more green. The HOK Teal Candy paint I used just kinda came out a tad greener than I thought - but I'm happy with it! Maybe it counts for you. This pic is from the 2009 GM Nationals in Carlisle PA - the car was finally painted about 3 weeks before - I just barely made it - didn't even have time to get the badges back on yet!

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
Are you reffering to the Polo Green color code available half way through the 92 model year? I believe there are pics on here somewhere. It was actually available with the Z03 option with silver stripes (or was it gold?). If no one can find it your just gonna see a bunch of teal cars.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
There was also the dark metallic green with gold stripes. There's one that sits in a yard I see all the time, and the weeds are growing up around it, and it's sad - it's a really pretty car, but must be not running, and thus it sits, waiting for it's owner to fix it. Maybe if it's still there in a year, I'll make an offer, and rescue another.

Were by chance asking about the Dark/Light Jade 1982 Camaros? I still have yet to see one. (They're even rarer than my car, now)

This may be a bad thing to say but I am not intending on keeping my car original colors, I just want a nice... almost john deere green. Anyone that is close to that I would love to see.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
I think Zones89RS just painted his car a color like that... I think he has a thread in this forum or maybe on the Members camaros boards about it.
Crazy Hawaiian had a green thirdgen too I think. But I havent heard from him in ages.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
Thanks internalforce, I looked at both of those cars, and they were neat. I think what I want is a little lighter than that, I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but a sweet green like I'm talking about with some silver hockey stripes just sounds bad a**!!! I would love to see any other medium green 3rd gen's just to get an idea of how they look.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
Here's something for consideration:
Green (any green) is no longer "in".
I was just told this today by the local auto trim and upholstery shop. I was looking for ideas on tying in my exterior teal green color with the interior (which is black/grey). I have the armrests with the groove in the middle - my thought was a fabric or vinyl of some sort glued into the groove, that would at least semi-match my teal green. I was also interested in having the 2th anniversary logo embroidered on new seat covers and floor mats in the teal color. Anyway, it seems that there are very few options for greens in the vinyl/upholstery world anymore.
I've even noticed lately that all the green colored LED's, Neons, etc. are all going on the discount tables at all the auto parts stores (I've been taking advantage of this
So a heads up - greens are not easy colors to work with.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
Thanks for the heads up. I don't care how in I look, but maybe I can take advantage of some of these deals. I like a medium green simply because not many 3rd gens are that color, and I think it won't be just unique but SHARP!!! . I don't want a metallic green either, just a simple glossy green, with silver hockey stripes. Besides someones gotta bring green back lol. Might as well be a good looking stud like me lol. (I really not that arrogant)

Here is my mentioned 89:
Initial paint
Close to finished.
The addition of the black made it REALLY work. It is labeled hunter green.

So what? It's your car and your money, have it sprayed whatever color you like. In and out is for the cattle who follow the herd.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
That was my thought, I don't really care if everyone thinks it's cool or not, to be honest I am not going to come close to recovering my money out of it anyway, so I might as well have it the way I want it. Zones, that is a nice camaro, a little lighter, and a whole lot glossier and were getting there. Thanks for the pics.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
I was just stating that green was "out" so the OP would understand that 1) green will be unique in the car world, and 2) makes finding green things to go with it difficult.
I hope no one thinks my opinion is the green sucks - I'm the first photo on this thread and I'm ALL GREEN!!!

I appreciated your comment camaronewbie. All you gave me was simple facts, which were useful. I don't think anyone thought anything you said was in a negative fashion.

Also, this was all done in 3 days.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
That's a great paint job for a three dayer. And it's a great idea, now you got one that looks good and is fun to drive, kinda takes the anxiety of getting your other camaro done so you can drive it.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
Oh yea, it helps. I sold my 95 Z28 to get this new car. I just love third gens too much, the 4th gen seats are better but that is just a swap away. I nearly got a 86 IROC but it needed WAY too much work. It was a true junker.

Here is my 92RS. It is the original color which the window sticker I have says is Dark Green Grey Metallic. Almost looks blue sometimes but I love it.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
Zone, I like your color combo after you sprayed the black on the top half, I usually don't like 2 tones but yours works. I thought you just sprayed base coat without the clear which gives it a similar look (I've done that a few times). Somehow the black makes it look lower too. 90Z28ss, that's a real good looking 92 ,is that original paint.Later.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
Here is my 92. Pics are from feb. 2009 when i bought her. Disposable camera..lol..pics kinda blow. The car is a bit lighter in person. I will take some more pics w/ a real camera and post them up. Since these were taken she got a headliner, plastic dash overlay (saving $ for a real replacement), tail light black outs, and 3 magnaflow exhaust with blunt or aka pencil cut tips. Just all the minor stuff. Yesterday I picked up black interior plastics, areo spoiler (high rise), and a 86 Iroc grill insert. She has a LONG way to go but im having fun! I really DIG my green and get LOTS of compliments on the color.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
My car should have had those rims I think. The previous owner must have swapped over at some point... They make your car look so much better even though they're the exact same externally otherwise.
I was always told my car was "Polo Green". I've seen only about two others with my own eyes, one was a very clean Z with 18" IROC replicas on it and the other had gold heritage stripes and was beaten all to hell. Used to see two kids driving it around my old house alot, it was hell of beat down but I always loved how it looked and have wanted to get those stripes ever since.

IMO The teal/forest green is the second most popular color next to black. I see those colored cars every where. I really like alot of these cars.

Re: Any Green 3rd Gen's?
yeah ive seen a couple here in Tampa..one that was fairly beat, and the other was a mirror image of mine. Lol..was kinda cool to see my car driving by...did the classic double take. When i first bought her i of course considered going white, black, silver..something along those lines. But the green has really grown on me. And if really want a black car..that just gives me an excuse to go and find a black Iroc...haha One project at a time tho..lol
