Anybody have luck with black paint?

My ride is black and I have a hell of a time keeping it clean. Every time i wash it water spots no matter how fast i dry or how cool and shady the conditions are. So..I have to wax it also every time to get rid of the water spots. Does anyone have any advice as to what I can do? I use Zymol wax and Zymol car wash.
Im to the point where i want to repaint it an easy mantinenance color like WHITE. But, when the black is clean it looks really good......

And there you have it. Don't go from black to white. These are the most impressive cars besides red. And they sell for more, too.

Here's a detailing tip. Wipe your car down immediately after washing. If you use a chamois or soft cotton towel that is not soaked wet then you should have no trouble removing the water spots. Water spots form because the towel or chamois is too wet. Also a good wax always helps the water roll off and wipe off better. You should not have to wax your car everytime you wash it to remove the water spots. Too much wax build up and to much work. Also make sure you have all the soap off the car. Rinse it throughly. Soap leave a film, especially if the sun hits it.

I wash twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. Wax once a month and Buff once a month. Works like a charm.

i use the California Water Blade. after you finish with the soap, just make sure you rinse the car off real well. run the water blade over the car to get most of the water off, then just use a chamois on like the front air daim, mirrors, and other tough spots. it takes me less than 2 minutes to dry the car off.

could try using Z6 from zaino... you can apply it anytime, and it takes water spots off.

Try drying it with a leaf blower, also the Zaino works, so does the water blade.

I wash the car, spray it down. Then it dries quick (Damn this heat wave). So then I grab a water bottle, spray the hood, whipe it down real quick and it gets rid of the water spots. Then just do the same thing to the rest of the car

Thanks for the suggestions/replies. I can get the car clean without waxing every time, but it lacks that mirror shine. I guess im just too picky.

I second the water blade and the "fake" chamois called the absorber. The blade can get most of the water off in a few seconds and the absorber can have it dry in a few more.

Then I use a mist wax spray for those in between times to remove all spots.

Here is one good tip use a spray nozzle
to rinse the soap off the car then once all the soap has been rinsed off. Remove the nozzle and gently run water over the car this cuts down on water spots. Also instead of waxing the car to get the spots off use Eagle One(or whatever brand you perfer) Quick Detailer it gives you the shine and cleans the spots off. Hope this helps.

Maybe you are not getting the shine you are looking for because of the wax you use. Some swear by Zaino, Megulars, Mothers, Turtle, etc. Remember the sun will suck up that wax. Also the shine will depend on how many layers of black paint you have, is it wet sanded, do you have clear coat, how old your paint job is, how much sun your car gets and on and on.
One things for sure, no car looks better pulling out of the car wash then a BLACK car.

its even worse having a black car and living down a dirt road. I wash it, dry it, get it looking good, the drive down my road once, even at like 5 mph, dust covers the whole bottom half and the rear. it really pisses me off because it looks so good clean

Since I just got my car repainted.. I'm learning how much of a pain black is. However, it's a very nice black when completed. Since mine was just painted around 2 weeks ago, I can't use fast wax or any wax for that matter. I've either got to use the spart bottle of water or wait until the next wash. Doesn't really bother me though. Those with a garage... your are very lucky people!!!

My car stays so much cleaner whenever I can convince my dad to let me put it in there, It actually stays clean for a couple of days compared to ten or twenty minutes outside.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with water spot problems. I think my main problem is hard water.
I use Zymol and haven't tried anything else since. I would guess that the quality of the paint job might not be that good. I don't have to wax my paint to get it shine...I do it to get rid of water spots and any minor scratches and to help repel the nasty water.
The other thing I do is use one of those California Car Dusters every other day or so to keep it looking just washed. The only problem is that the vehicle has to be pretty cool otherwise the wax on the duster can melt off onto the car leaving some nasty little streaks.
