Re: first car

First off; welcome to the boards
Second; first post of a new car and no pics?

Being an Iroc you must have gfx so side pipes would be a big no no, ground clearance would be a huge problem. Theres really not much you have to do to these cars to really enjoy them, they look badass as they are. Sounds like you must have the 305 H.O. so thats plenty of power for a 16 year-old to get in trouble with. It's really up to you its your car do what makes you happy. what i did was search the boards and the sponsered links to get some ideas for customizing my ride.

Re: first car

Welcome
Pics are nice

Search the boards and you will see. Most guys around here are into performance before looks, so your going to see alot of threads about lowering your car, redoing the suspension, subframe connectors...... First thing is probably going to be an exhaust. Look for a nice set of headers, then get yourself a full 3in exhaust.

My first mods to my car were,
Clean up the car, everywhere you will be suprised how much a good cleaning will do to our cars.
NEW FLUIDS
Exhaust/air cleaner
tailight blackouts
new carpet/cowl induction hood

I would advise you to not blow all your money at once, these cars are old, so dont get spend happy. ALot of our 20+ year old parts like to fail and break so having some on hand cash for that is good at a younger age. I dove headfirst into my camaro and am not paying the price later lol, but i still enjoy every minute of it.

Re: first car

Welcome to TGO!
Side pipes are possible but there is no kit for are cars, so you would have to be able to build your own system and be pretty good with some tools to cut the ground effects and to fiberglass around the cut to give it a clean finish. Possible? Yes but with a lot of customization and flaws. I also wouldn't recommend the outside corvette side exhaust because it looks crappy seen it on two thirdgen Camaro not pretty.

Things to make it slick, I would say:
-Window Tinting (I really find it amazing what tinting the windows does to are cars)
-Aftermarket hood? (Gives a different look to your thirdgen while keeping the style, nice for making your thirdgen stand out among a lot of the once that are falling apart on the road (hawks camaro, craglist)
- Aftermarket emblems (sometimes a nice set of mirror finish stainless steel emblems can make a Camaro shine (ebay)

Main thing is shop around cause you can get deals.

Re: first car

hey thanks, and sorry about the no pic thing but i cant seem to upload them (maybe im doing it wrong) but the car is a white car with red interior. it runs a 305 auto and has a t-top. it is very clean and has been very well maintained. it doesnt need any body or engine work.
