The Vortec from 96 - 98 or 99 was in that same class of Gen II AFAIK... I am not sure about the LT1, I would expect that yes it was but not sure...

no vortec headed truck motors were gen 1, just a different intake for the heads for the 96=99 motors. LT1 was gen 2 due to reversed coolant flow and opti crap ignition.

The vortec GEN I 350 continued in Van duty for a while after 99 also.
