I Am PISSED!, Someone Scratched My Car. What to Do?

OK, the other night this moron didn't like the way I was working so he made an immature page on the PA to the manager about me. She talked to him and she found nothing wrong with what I was doing, because I was working. So this moron goes home about 1/2 hr. later sick, yeah right. When I got off work I checked my car to make sure nothing unusual happened. Everything was fine now after he came in late last night, this morning when I got home I noticed a scratch about a foot long. Doesn't look like a key, but some other object. I notified the police and they said there isn't much they can do without him admitting it or bragging about it. I am not positive it is from this guy at work but it seems awfully coincidental. Anyways the cop says the insurance company might have a shop put bondo on the scratch and repaint the door, the paint is red that is a couple of years old, what is the likely hood that it will match the rest of my car. I really want to kick this guys @ss but then again I can't be sure, plus I am leaving for college in less than a month, and don't need any court fees.

So are you saying file a hit and run to the insurance company, I'm not sure if that was your point. Would it matter though that I filed a case with the police of a possible keying, I gave the cop the name of the guy to check out, but I know that will lead to nowhere.

This would be covered under your comprehensive coverage b/c it is vandalism. It won't effect your rates b/c you have no control over someone damaging your car. I'd report it to insurance & get an estimate but chances are w/ a scratch that small, it would only cost a few hundred dollars at most to fix so see what your deductable is. As for blending it w/ your existing paint, any reputable body shop can do that no problem as long as your paint isn't faded too bad. Good Luck w/ it!

Mark, i feel your pain. I had my car scratched like that, too, though I don't think mine was as bad as yours.

You work hard to have nice stuff and then people get jealous and think they need to take it away from you.

Mark: Get the ultimate revenge: Don't sink to his level. Prove you're better than he is.

I know I should be telling you not to go to his level, but sometimes revenge can be SOOO sweet... hell I say key his car back, and if it ain't worth keying, there's always a brick through a back window or two, right? Hmm.. your car is red.. blood wont show.. who's to know that he "accidently" happened to walk in front of a moving red vehicle going 90mph? swerve marks? they weren't yours..

The damage might be more than you think. Not only will the door have to be painted but it will have to be blended into the rear quarter and front fender.

Todays paint shops use computer type scanners in 3 different locations for an exact match to your paint.... even if it is "aged".
