rear wing options?

rear wing options?
I've seen everything that's available specifically for our cars. has anyone adapted a wing from something else to fit a third gen f-body? any pics? I'm curious as to whether or not there is anything else that fits closely enough that it could be adapted without a lot of work/money.
lets see 'em :]

Re: rear wing options?
I had an 89 GTA back in 2001-2004 that I installed a 4th gen wing and a RA1 hood. The RA1 really helped the wing match the bodylines of the car IMO. I just wish I would have taken better pics before I sold the car

Have you seen this one. Its called a one year spoiler. Only 39,000 were made in "88" I found it in a wrecking yard and took the hole hatch.

Re: rear wing options?
I don't think nothing beats an aftermarket 4th gen firebird style thirdgen spoiler in looks but they are a little heavy and a little pricey. Nice for a street car. If I was building a drag car though, I would make my own lightweight aluminum spoiler like the pic below.

maybe I should make a fiberglass version of that.

Re: rear wing options?
I'm thinking of going with the simple wing found on the early 3rd gens, or maybe adapting a deck lid lip spoiler as a 2nd gen throw-back. Thoughts?

Re: rear wing options?
Anyone have more pictures of that nice looking gray Trans AM? I like the gas cap too. Nice choices for wings/spoilers. If someone was able to come up with a "heritage" style rear Trans AM spoiler I'd be kind of interested to see how it looks because I might be interested.

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...ml#post3843621Check out this link for ideas, just to warn you though I have about $400 in mine so far, (I had to make it twice, trial and error). That does not even begin to get into how much time I've spent, and I have a body shop. I've put a good 150hr on this thing getting it right and molding then remolding. At my own rate of 35hr shop time I owe myself about $5,500 in time and supplies on this one..."that one's goin to collections."

Re: rear wing options?
wow, that really nice work. it looks really good on there.
for mine I'd like something similar to that, just on mine I wouldn't want it quite as wide, and I lean mine back just a bit, but thats just part of the "vision" I have for my car :]
