Should window tint work on tail lights?
So... I bought a set of 5% precut window tinting for my Firebird. It came with the two roll up windows and the back glass but I already had my back glass tinted so I have a huge piece of tint left over. I want to tint my tail lights and covers are expensive so I was thinking about just cutting tail light tints out of the left over back glass tint. Has anyone tried this? I'm probably going to to do it anyway, just curious if anyone has done this and has any observations on how it's held up over time.

Essentially the covers are tinted from the inside from factory (kind of why they de-laminate) So I think its possible and would turn out good if you do a good job and get all the bubbles out.

A friend of mine owns a window tint shop and I know from conversation just yesterday that normal window tint film will not work on tailights. I will get more info if you want!

I've seen it done... It's really hard, and takes a heat gun, but I have seen it done. Spray will be easier then clearcoat it.
