Personal Opinions on Louvres
I want to hear your personal opinion on rear window louvres.
Particularly Factory Vs. Chastain Shadows.
And as I go to dig for my pictures of my maro with the chastain shadows, they are no where to be found, Figures!
Will post pics asap.

Re: Personal Opinions on Louvres
You will get mixed opinions on rear window louvers. Some people like them and some people hate them. I have the factory rear window louvers on my car and I like them. I think it depends on what color car you have. I like them with some colors and others I dont. I havent seen a set of aftermarket louvers that I like.

I fully agree with jermdm, but I'm looking for a set of my own, mainly looking at junkyards. Not looking to spend big $$$

Louvers look good if you have only 3 teeth, a rebel flag, and live in the south.

I've seen some 3 piece versions and I believe I've seen single piece, which is factory, which is stock ?

Re: Personal Opinions on Louvres
I thought 1 piece louvers (all plastic) look like crap, & 3 piece(plastic sides with aluminum centers) were better. I know factory ones are like that & are crimped where they meet the plastic sides. Mines are factory & are 3 piece.

Re: Personal Opinions on Louvres
I think now that the Big 3 are making retro muscle cars, I've seen a few of them with louvers and they just look badass... I think a well maintained, well painted set of lovers and a well maintained car look great. Not to great on 20year old stock cars...

Re: Personal Opinions on Louvres
Ok I finally got some time to upload some pics. This is my 1991 RS with the Chastain Shadows. They are a steel three piece design. I personally love them, but like jermdm said, I am expecting mixed reviews. As for "freestylzz" comment, that was neither helpful nor insightful, and I'm from West Virginia. I still have all of my teeth. If I ever need advice on how to play hockey, or if I just need to hear someone say "Eh" or "Aboot", I'll look your way.

I'm not huge fan of those, but honestly, those don't look too bad! I think if I did come across those, I'd get them!

Re: Personal Opinions on Louvres
not a big fan of louvers, but the only ones that look good are the factory ones all of the aftermarket ones look like crap, but trying to find a nice set of oem ones are hard to find and come with a big price tag too

Re: Personal Opinions on Louvres
I agree on louvers it comes down to personal taste. Personally I like them and have a factory set on my '83. Those Chastain are better looking than a lot of aftermarket sets that were available. Cragar made one of the nicest looking versions for 3rd Gens IMHO.

Re: Personal Opinions on Louvres
I am a fan of louvres. I think they look cool, and it's also added privacy if you don't have a cover in the hatch. I plan on getting a set at some point for my Formula, just to make it stand out. But to each his own I suppose
