Tinting Questions

The summer heat is finally getting to me and I can't stand being roasted alive while the sun shines in through the t-tops. The car gets hot like an oven even when it isn't warm outside. I want to tint the t-tops, side windows and rear hatch. Here's what I need to know.

#1. I want to use the darkest tint I can find for the t-tops. I saw some 20% Gila tint at Autozone, and it was the darkest they had. It's also heat reflective. Is that just a marketing gimmick or can tint actually be heat reflective? Is that also the darkest tint available?

#2. Everybody says 3M tint is the best, but I can't find it anywhere. Where should I go? Will a tint shop stock any? Also, how much does 3M film cost? Gila costs anywhere b/w $8 and $13.

#3. Does any company make tint that specifically reduces heat and UV glare?

If you want your tops to not let light thru,, paint them.

If you want tinted windows,, dont use Gila,,, unless you like purple tint in a few months or you just dont care

Absolutly Nothing black colored reflects heat (tint does reject interior rotting UV though)

Silver tint would be the only way to reject sunlight heat

Any real pro tint shop uses a metalized tint film (Gila is Dyed which is why it turns purple) that holds out for a long time and will be offered with (in some cases) a lifetime warrenty (as long as you're the owner that tinted the windows)
