What color should I paint my block???
Hey guys,
I'm swapping in a 6.2L aluminum L92 engine into my GTA, & I can't for the life of me think of what color to paint the engine. My car is "Flame Red Metallic", & I'd kind of prefer a lighter color on the block, just so I can see it if/when any leaks develop. Here's a picture of my car, maybe it'll help... (FWIW, I've gotten some paint that matches the body color, I'll likely use that on pulleys, fuel rails, etc. It's just too deep/dark-colored to use on the block...)
Gold would work as far as complementing the body color, but would look hideous IMO (might as well get a set of 22s & a r!cer wing at that point!).
Silver wouldn't look right (again, IMO), white would be hideous, as would Chevy Orange...
Anyone here have any suggestions??
Thanks guys.

Titanium would complement your engine bay........but I would paint all brackets, alternator, PS pump/resevor(sp), valve covers, intake, air cleaner, etc titanium. This would give it a nice modular look.....JMO

You want functional, or good looking? Titanium, cast iron, aluminum are all good colors.
White, or light grey would make it easier to see gunk on it. I think aluminum color is the best choice IMHO.

OK, THAT'S an interesting idea... I'm not exactly sure what color you're referring to though, do you have any examples of something painted that color?
Thanks for the feedback!

Here ya go buddy!!! Actually why even paint the block?? Its aluminum and would look really sweet scuffed up (brushed) then cleared. Spend your money painting accessories to complete the look.
Bad Penny rules! I think that you should spend the extra dough and get some Katech VC's and paint them up like the intake here ^^^.

OH, THAT'S freakin' SWEET looking... (adds high-temp titanium paint to shopping list) That would work for the block, and the accessories, but I think I'm still going to use some of the body-color matching paint I've got - God knows it cost enough...
Thanks for the picture, man - when I get ready to bolt it all together, I'll have you drive down here & be my 'design consultant'!

Tim, you just let me know!
You think that if we polished the ends of those L92 heads it would look good?

So how can I find that paint? Is it likely going to be another custom-mixing order, or is it available on the 'net somewhere ?
