Re: Post your pic of Rear Window Louver
I have an 87 IROC and have just started looking for the original Factory DE1 Louvers for the rear Hatch. You looked for several years, how did you find them? I didn't know that they were so rare. Any leads as to where to go and how to find them would be appreciated.

Re: Post your pic of Rear Window Louver
Pics of when I bought the car. Still have the louvers stored (bringing them out this summer.. it's been FIVE years now!)
I have pictures of the individual hardware pieces coming soon, for those who are wondering what these parts look like. Nobody has seemed to be able to answer this question, and I'd like to help everyone else finally get their louver problems squared away. I have MOST of the pieces, but not all of them. I'm missing one of the side clips. I have the two mounting brackets, one side clip/bumper for it, and 5/6 screws. I am going to take these parts to a machine shop this week and see what it will cost to make duplicates of these parts so everyone can plug and play with their original stuff and I can start distributing them out to the rest of you 3rd gen guys for (hopefully) cheap depending on how much the machine shop stabs me for doing it.

very nice! I think the louvers look better with the traditional spoiler, but I'm still a fan

Not sure why people keep saying that nobody has provided pictures of the hardware. I did a few years ago. Do a search. The factory hardware has been posted. The set on the car above is not factory, so be sure to know which hardware you need.

I found one post in my other thread that posted pictures of hardware with his configuration: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...-hardware.html

Those pics are of factory hardware. Here's the pics I posted. Unfortunately, they don't have dimensions, but you can see them.

ok, I found a plastic set on CL... the guy was asking $80, but I talked him down to $50. A couple cans of paint, and they looked good enough to put on my car.

Re: Post your pic of Rear Window Louver
Here are the Louvers that came on mine. They are going to hang in the garage till I find someone who likes them I guess. I have never liked them. I'm in Atlanta. If you need these and are willing to pay the packing and shipping or can come get them contact me. They are in good shape needing only some new nuts for the main top brackets. All 3 parts are metal. I am in West GA

Re: Post your pic of Rear Window Louver
Has anyone ever put a set of louvers on a 91-92 that don't have the brake light cutout? I'm not entirely fond of the cut out for the light but love the way the louvers look on our cars. I know it wont be a fitment issue, I'm more worried about if it will look bad when the brake light illuminates and shines from inside the louvers.

Re: Post your pic of Rear Window Louver
Check the link in my sig. My louvers are factory. When I bought the car, it didnt have them on it but you could see the marks that they left. My rpo sticker has the DE1 code but the previous owner must of took them off. 1 owner car when I bought it back in 96. Bought mine on ebay back in 02 for less than 200.00 with the hardware.
maule6, I think its going to be very hard to get the hardware by themself. Its hard enough just to find a set of louvers.

Re: Post your pic of Rear Window Louver
Erg i cant decide if i want Louvers or not. It would look like 85 T/A WS6's but mines just a stock Trans Am with the WS6 and all that. Im so indecisive. Its triple black as well if that matters to anyone. Also,a 2 inch cowl is going on over winter. What do you guys think?

Re: Post your pic of Rear Window Louver
I havent seen any louvers quite like mine. The first post is similar, but the side openings on mine are much smaller than his. My sides are plastic, while the center is aluminum. Any one know if these were a factory option for 1983? RPO sheets werent put into cars until 1985 or so (ay least not in the center console), so I have no real way of knowing what the factory options were.

Yeah....me too!
I keep posting that I want a set but no one wants to sell one.
Classic industries has the metal and plastic ones both single and three pc but the shipping to ohio is more than the louvers themselves. If you are closer to cali than I am maybe try them
Jeff
PS any body have a mint set for my show car they want to sell and are close to cleveland ohio?
