Question About Car Covers?

Ok so here is my problem, i keep my car under a car cover when im not driving it, but we have had a lot of rain here in pittsburgh lately. The water has been getting threw the car cover and making the car wet, it never used to do that. Is there any thing that i could do to make it more water proof, like spary it with water proofing spray, or would that just ruin the cover? iIm open to all suggestions. This is the car cover that i have--http://www.ecklerscamaro.com/product...dept%5Fid=1346

Re: Question About Car Covers?

To my knowledge theres not a waterproofing spray you could put on the cover. Even if there was, I would be worried it would damage the cover further or maybe even mess with your cars paint. If you really find the cover unsuitable try to get another (if its within the 5-year warranty) or get a whole new one completely. My recommendation would be Cal Cover Cover. They make a ton of great covers and I've been extremely pleased with the one I bought from them and the customer service they have.

Re: Question About Car Covers?

You can't throw a tarp over it. The moisture needs to be able to escape, or it can damage the paint.

All covers will let at least a "little" moisture in and out. The last thing you want is moisture trapped against the paint. The main job of the cover is to protect the car from dust, pollen, birdcrap etc. etc., NOT water.

My first cover was a California Car Cover. The car was outside year round and I talked to their sales rep about what would best suit my needs. She explained what I mentioned above. My car stayed dry in "most" rain storms, but sure enough, when the bottom fell out, the car would get wet.

Re: Question About Car Covers?

car covers arent supposed to be water proof. you are supposed to remove the cover when it rains. thats just how it is...either that or get a garage. car covers are supposed to protect from dust, sun, and maybe impact dings
