Doesnt anyone use Mothers stuff anymore??

All I hear on this board is Zaino this and Zaino that.

not that I dont think its a great product but Ive used mothers for years and I can get results just as good as zaino. (imho)

this isnt an attempt to get a fire started just a question to people who have used mothers and like/dislike the brand.

I've wondered the same thing. I used Mother's, I used Meguires, and most recently I used Duragloss. Of the three I liked Duragloss the best, and Mother's the least but they are all excellent.

Solely because of what I read on this board I decided to give Zaino a try. I really like the product. I have a suspicion that it's the exact same product as Duragloss only repackaged, but I can't prove it and they're priced similarly so it doesn't matter. I'm going to continue to use Zaino until the next greatest product comes along. I still use the Duragloss on my daily drivers because I have so much if it and it works just like Zaino.

I think if you use any of these products consistent with the instructions you are going to get an excellent result.

I still use Mother's aluminum polish. Oh wait, no I don't because I don't have those wheels anymore...

Mother's was the first product I tried because I heard good things about it. Then I switched to Meguire's because that's what my body shop uses (that and 3M). It blew Mother's away in my opinion. Then I switched to Zaino and it blew Meguires out of the water ant that's where I'm staying until something even better comes along.

It's just like Zaino. Smells the same, application instructions are the same, the product line is the same. You apply a polish-lok product after washing the car with dishwashing liquid to remove the old wax, then put on the polish without removing the polish-lok. They have the same products as Zaino, including a polish that "cleans" [like Zaino 5] and a polish for "show car finish" [like Zaino 3].

This is not a knock on Zaino, it's what I'm using now. But I haven't truly found that it's better than Duragloss.

You can check it out at www.duragloss.com

I've used mothers alum polish on every semi I drove. NOTHING works as good. If there is a better product out there for polishing alum, a truck driver will find it. Every one I know who drives semi's uses mothers. There are tricks to applying it that you have to learn to get the best results. In between you can use a few other products to maintain the shine but to get it there is only one product to use to get the shine.

I also use mothers wax too. There are very few other waxes on the market as good. I admit I haven't used the zaino stuff, but untill I get a new paint job on the Z I'm not worring about it.

very true on the aluminum polish. I used a number of brands to clean aluminum and mother's by far exceeds anything. i tried 4 brands on one wheel to get the dirt out of the aluminum, the only one that cleaned it was mother's... I just did this an hour ago.
