fog light installation

I have a 92 RS and i have just recently installed the bow tie grill, and i would like to know what items i would need for the installation of aftermarket fog lights. Are there particular GM brackets that i need or would brackets come with the new lights? Also what kind of wiring would i need to do to run the lights to a factory fog light switch?

Not sure about all of the particulars, but if you want aftermarket fog lamps, you can tie the main power source in from the brown wire on your parking lights.

This way, when your parking lights are on, so are your fog lights. Less confusion.

Or, you could do it the supreme janky way run the toggle switch from the battery. You know, the same toggle that switches your amp and radio on because you don't know what an ignition wire does

Most after market fog lights come with brakets all u need to do is decide where to put the fog lights!! They come with the wires and a on/off switch and instructions on how to install them!!! If you are buying a brand new pair it should come with all this stuff so installing them your self is a brezze maybe 1/2 an hour tops!!!

The main power source for the foglights should NOT come from anywhere other than directly from the battery. From there it should go to a relay and then to the foglights. The trigger for the relay could, however, come from the parking light wiring. Use a relay.

Then run the brown wire thru the factory switch and then go to the relay. If you dont use the relay you'll smoke the switch.

If you get a decent set of lights, one will be included in the directions.

I have done this to my car, all I did was buy a nice set of fog/driving lights, and the GM brackets for the lights if they had come on our car and then just spliced it in to the fuse panel where the driving lights would of gone, it was really easy, the only part that was tricky was getting the lights to bolt onto the stock brackets but that was nothing a die grinder couldnt fix in 10 seconds. The GM part number for the brackets are 16506439 you need two of them. Mine come with a relay and a switch and everything. Looks good compared to that ugly grille that was on there.
