I did that to my factory wheels, and I will haveto say they will look nice for awhile, but man they are a pain to keep shinny. once you get them were you want them clearcoat them

I'm really surprised nobody recommended that.. that's normally how you go about polishing rims... do some searches on polishing rims I know there are a few good thread floating around about it.. compounds arn't that expensive.. here is a link to some bars from summit.. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku or you could go cheaper and just buy these three http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

you probably only really need the tripoli and the white rogue.. you will also need a polishing attachment or two for a drill, shouldn't cost ya too much more. Also I will give you a 100% guarantee that if you compound those rims you will be able to remove those spots and make them shine like new chrome.

Re: spots on my wheels!
that should work.. there probably isn't enough compound there to do all the wheels though, it's probably enough to do one or two. Basically you guessed right, apply compound to the wheel, then go at it. It's kind of like sanding in the way you start with one and finish with the other, like switching to different grit sand paper.
