I made a small toy car in Autodesk Inventor a while ago. It was my own version, slightly modified. I'll try to dig up the files sometime.

.3DS !!! Wow, 3D-Studio Dos....WAY Back...cerca 1990! You'd want to bring the 3ds file into a translator to clean that up because if I remember right it was a VERY coarse 3D mesh.

3D Studio Max is still in use today. Most AutoCAD programs can open a 3DS file with no problems. They contain mesh data, material attributes, bitmap references, smoothing group data, viewport configurations, cameras and lighting information, and object animation data.

Anyway If you want to try your hand at just making a model try:

are you using solidworks? how detailed are you trying to get?

I saw a simple model on http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/3DCo...l/Default.aspx

but when I went back to get it, it was gone!
