Sorry I haven't gotten around to updating you guys on the new paint job, I haven't really been home since I got the car back, need to get in inspected in less then 3 days till I am screwed. I did get the car back on monday. The only thing that isn't ready is the wing. They should be done with that by the end of this week and will install it for me. Here are a couple pics.

Looks great! Get the wing on there and it'll be perfect. Does the stripe on the hood continue to the rear? I can't tell from the pictures. I really like that color red too.

Very nice
The wing will definately finish it up. Just curious, why did you use the older IROC style grill though?

First of all, great to come in here an hour later and see some awesome coments.
Mike - No the stripe does not go all the way to the rear, I thought about that but decided it would uglify the car. My high rise spoiler is in the paintshop right now, it will go on for you guys.
Plasma - The grill was already on the car when I bought it. I think I like it better than a bowtie though.
Thanks to the rest and their comments.
I also in the past hour finished up the rest of the hood I wanted to be an original job.....including the paint scheme and then this.........
took me about an hour to make templets, had to drill 5 holes on each side

looks clean man. who did the paint? If the clear side markers are still available...you should get a set. They would look alot better than the orange. Post pictures when you get the highrise installed.

Re: And here she is, done with paint.
For the couple of you that asked about the paint. It was indeed the stock color that came on the car. You can look at my avy and see how much my car was faded before the paint job.
A place around here called B&R autobody painted it.
I do indeed have the clear side markers, I bought them from Kandied.... from off this site, I was looking for some and he offered me his. They will go on after inspection.,
Thanks for the comments.

compuwiz - they look to be some kind of foglights ud find and advanced, the guy who owned the car before me installed them. I actually just took them out, they arent going to pass inspection becuase they are hot all the time, they have to turn off when the high are engaged and i dont feel like putting a relay in.
builtz28- i will have to take the tail light polishing into consideration.

Instead of taking them off, why not just disconnectc the power, or pull the fuse or bulbs. Claim they are dead, and you just leave them on for looks. Get home, and fix however you "killed" them!

Must be a state thing? They don't even check fog lights here. I've rewired my to be on, regardless of high/low beams. A simple 5 minute, grounding connection conversion to the stock setup, that could be just as easily reversed, not that I would ever want to.

Re: And here she is, done with paint.
Where are you? You can't remove fog lights? You can't change your hood? What about wheels? Tires?
This sounds a little fishy to me...Are you sure you understand your state laws correctly? This sounds like laws they couldn't have. I suppose you can't change a car's color, or have "racing stripes" either...

Commenwelth of VA. The hood won't pass because it is a 3 inch cowl. The legal limit is 2 1/8.

Damn that sucks! I'm glad I live in GA! All we have to do is pass a sniffer test on a dyno for 96 and older cars.

nice looking car man they did a good job on the paint i really like the cowl induction emblem and that spoiler when it gets on will help the entire look of the car a ton. the stripe is not my style but it doesnt look bad i like to see people trying different stuff anyways and that is a unique idea. post some more pics with the spoiler on!

Bad-newz - Thanks man
Maroon - I am not sure when I will get pics of the spoiler mounted, my car as of yesterday has dead inspection, so I wont be able to drive it to the paint place to have them mount it. If I call and its done before tuesday, I can just birng it home and mount it myself, but if not, I am leaving wedensday and wont be back for a week, so it might be a while before I get pics, but I will eventually. Thanks for the comments as well.
sprtbike - I am indeed very happy with the outcome, and like everyone is saying, can't wait to see it with the high-rise.

Lol, I wish it was that easy. Actually, when I get back I will put the stock hood on, and it will pass. Everything else works, the hood is the only thing stopping me, I already hooked up the stock breather and all to pass the smog check. So, when I get back from AZ, I will drive the bitch to inspection. Then I can also put my clear side markers in.

Ok, I have came to notice I do not wanna use the HighRise. I really don't wanna mess with drilling holes in the car, I am scared I will mess up and would much rather use stock holes to mount. I am def. going to buy the Hawk's 5 inch and put that on there. I already got my other spoiler painted but have a sudden change in heart. If anyone is looking for a fiberglass high rise, I have it posted in the classifieds. Thanks guys, and also, what do you think about a Hawks 5 inch?

I think the 5 inch spoiler will go better with the cowl hood and the overall look of the car than the high rise spoiler would.

Thanks for the input guys. I really do think it will look better too, it will all flow together and def. stand out of the crowd even more. The only problem is my hatch is kinda off, so up close it might look a little shitty, but all in all will really stand out.

Wait a sec...You passed WITHOUT a fugly front plate, then you went home and put one on? Isn't that a little backwards?
