Pay for powder coating or spray paint it myself (TPI Unit)!??
Okie, I'm swapping engines soon and I figured while I had the TPI off the engine that I'd fix it up and make it look good!! I've been looking around at some places that do powder coating and I was wondering if it's really worth payin' to have them powder coat everything or should I just buy some hi temp spray paint and spray paint the pieces myself!?? I've seen some examples of TPI units that have been powder coated and they look very nice but I'm thinkin' I can do just as good a job with spray paint!! Any opinions on this??

Found some good stuff on polishing the plenum and runners up nice and shiny so looks like I'll be investing in a sander and some buffing disks!! I'm sure that'll be cheaper than paying for powder coating and I'm sure it'll look better than spray painting!

Go with powder coating or polished.
Eastwood has a nice setup that will allow you to do at home or polish it. The problem with paint is the heat and how many times have you spilled something when under the hood. A powder coat unit allows you to quickly wipe it off. Most painted surfaces will immediately ingest the spill. Just my 2 cents. Polishing the plenum is easy the runners are a bit tricky, but can be done.
