Cracks in aluminum wheels can be extremely dangerous. Even tiny ones can grow. I'm more worried about safety than the air leak. Are you sure the wheel is structurally OK?

I wouldn't try to fix it. Replace it. Vibration, and the other forces on it can make it explode or break apart. That is extremely dangerous, especially cruising at highway speeds. Be safe and replace it.

My buddies dad owns a welding shop. He has welded on at least one of every set of 18"+ wheels around here. The roads around here aren't meant for those. Small cracks are fine. Grind the area down at the crack. Build back up by a reputeable aluminum welder. Grind the new weld back down. Sand and polish to make it look good. Take it to a tire shop and have it balanced. Not a big deal as long as it's a small crack, and it gets fixed correctly.

I would say get it fixed professional or dont do it at all...it will be cheaper to replace the rim then the potential alternatives..
