How long will the Maaco $400 job look good for?
I hate the color of my Camaro. Its a maroon. Hard to keep clean and look nice. I just plain hate the color.
I am going to wetsand the car with 400,and do alot of the prepping myself, and was thinking about getting a cheap $400 paint job from maaco. I love my Camaro but I'll be selling it within a year.
How well will it look going from maroon to White? And how long will it look good for? Will my prepping the car significantly affect the outcome in a good way? Can they just somehoe seal up the darker color before they apply the white? Is that how its done?
Thanks,
RS'er!

My Maaco job looked great. A lil bit of overspray on my air dam, and that was about it. I don't think however I would have let them change my color....that's just me. And BTW, I didn't get the $400 job.

the paint job they gave me lasted exactly as long as they told me. after that it'll slowly decline. i started seeing chips & other small artifacts that are showing up. it's mostly really small stuff, but you can notice it pretty easily if you look for it. still looks great from far away. also still shines pretty nice when waxed (or even washed). i think it's hit or miss.
btw, they got overspray on my rims (a real pain to clean up), my exhaust, the bottom edge of the windshield... and my muffler. i'm sure there's more too...
