*****, please read everyone.

ok guys..
it seems now that almost any mod we do to our cars we get flamed for being a *****. it is getting really annoying.

ok for instance. some call having neons ricerific, well actually hot rods from back in the day had these, its an appearance mod. it makes your car stand out from the crowd.

And on to the ***** thing. ok so customizing a car because you have the money to, no matter what car it is, honda, toyota, chevy, pontiac, even if it does not make if go faster makes it a ***** mod. no i dont think so. dont get me wrong. i love to go fast. but its not legal everywhere, i try to obey the law sometimes. and the ugliest car at the car show that is the fastest doesnt get all the attention does it. NO. the one with the awesome paint, and little things gets the attention.

ok and speaking of a ***** mod. what cars have the most turbos on them. japanese cars do. but yet when you put one on an american car. its just a mod. hey i am not dissing turbos, just the principles.

ok to make my point clear.
WHAT EVER MAKES YOU HAPPY WITH YOUR CAR, MAKES YOU HAPPY.
dont let someone call it something it is not.
if there werent any japanese cars, then they would just envy you for being inventive.

-And chuck please let this stay.. it needed to be said-

Yeah I totally agree, Alot of people use the term loosely and they don't know what rice really is. The term rice is suppose to describe posers. For all those stickers boys who have stickers for mods they don't have. Or that really don't do any for the car, like for foglights stickers and things of that nature. I've seen alot of things people wanted to do and have people jump on them and say it's rice. Like I made a comment on how I thought that the project Sliver Steak from super chevy sucked. It had many of things wrong with it, in my opinion. But the thing that stood out was that I made the comment that they had the cheesy one tail pipe on one side and how tacky that looked. And wouldn't you know it, someone says worrying about the tail pipe is rice. So I guess that statement would mean that anyone who would want tips or dual exhaust would be rice then, right? I do see what your saying alot of people using the term rice and not know what it means. I think its funny

no i posted it because i am sick of people being dumb. and calling everything rice. when they really just want to say stupid or poser. and i didnt write this post to **** anyone off. just to inform them, rice is something different than what people are using it for.
dacuma you know what i am talking about. i also agree on the project silver streaks one tail pipe. and the sticker boys also.
and no i didnt do this because of calvin and his urination problem.

Oh my bad I didn't mean to come off that all decals are bad, I like that one. I should of said that when you put stickers on your car trying to act you have a mod when you don't. Now that rice. I dig alot of the funny decals like that one. So it's all good.

I'm going to try to answer this seriously instead of jumping on everybody's ***** like the others have done.

the one with the awesome paint, and little things gets the attention.

This is where I think the answer lies. I totally agree with what you said here. I don't think those cars are rice. Rice isn't about "awesome paint" and "little things" It's about stickers and big dumb looking things like park-bench spoilers, folgers cans and tacky ground effects kits.

That being said, there are still subtle things that I won't do to my car because of the "rice" stigma that would be associated with it. I kinda like clear turn signal lenses, but because there is such a stigma associated with clear lenses and "rice", I choose not to use them. People can say what they want about that, but the image I want my car to portray is one totally devoid of rice and associated stigmas.

my 2 cents on it is...none of us are rice, because we all have an AMERICAN CHEVY CAMARO...

not a Honda Camaro, a Hyundia Camaro, CHEVY...

AMERICAN
not rice, if someone wants to have a 6 foot spoiler, and a funky paint job, they just dont want to have a bland paint job, or hey maybe he does have stripes and stuff and other tacky decals, so what, maybe they are tired of single color i got racing stripes like everyone else...rice is what i always thought, a rice burner, a foriegn car...

whatever someone wants to do with their camaro do it...its what makes you happy...

in my opinon, rice isnt even a word that should appear on any of these messages boards....

There are as many definitions of "rice" as there are perspectives of what constitutes a "good-looking car". To argue or discuss it is pissing in the wind.

My take on the term has nothing to do with the country of origin of a vehicle. It's mostly anybody following the styling tastes of import track race cars when their car is nowhere near the performance level of the real thing.

In that respect I have to disagree with Klayburn because if you saw a CHEVY Cavalier or a FORD Escort modded in those ways, it would be just as easily marked as rice as any import brand car.

This was a retarded and retrograding post and should be deleted or closed before a lot of opinions get thrown around and nothing more than hard feelings will come of it. I don't see how this could be beneficial to anyone because nobody is going to change their point of view as a result of it.

i think everyone should have an opinion,

but....

they should atleast stop refering to an ugly car as an object of FOOD! i mean seriously, we dont eat our cars or mods we do to them, so why call them rice? why not steak, or pancake, they're foods? if a car is ugly in your opinion, just call it something reasonable thats not food.

I think both sides have made their points so I am going to lock this before it gets out of control.

Opinions are good but I do not want to get any type of flame war started.

Thanks for understanding,
Chuck
