Anyone with a custom underhood liner??

I know it sounds funny, but I've always been a fan of detailed underhood liners. IF you don't know what I mean look under the hood of a 5.0 Mustang and see the galloping pony. Or a Buick GN with the turbo 6 logo on the hood liner. I think little things like that really make a car stand out at shows and at the track when you have your hood open.

Well, as if twin turbos weren't enough to attract attention when the hood is opened, I decided to borrow a page from the Buick guys and make a 'Turbo 8' emblem to put on my underhood liner. I'll have completeed pics of it tomorrow, but in the meantime I have attached a few pics below to give you an idea of what I have planned.

Anyone else with customized hood liners, please post up!

The hood liner is a stock GM replacement part. I printed out the design on my computer and cut it into a stencil, then hand painted the emblem on there. You need to view it in full size to make it look right (the edges look choppy if you veiw it in a reduced size). BTW, you can't use spray paint to stencil on a design, it is too thin, bleeds out and looks terrible.

You mean Paul with the black Z24? No, my IROC is still a little faster. It goes 12.45@114.8MPH on 18" street tires with 6psi of boost. The Z24 does 12.59 at 114.77 on 10psi of boost and drag radials. The IROC weighs 3700lbs versus the Z24's 3000lbs with me in the car. The Z24 is very close though...

Did Paul get to race his Z24 this weekend, or was it rained out?

I like it...though the twin turbo set up I think sets it apart from the average ride more than the stencil. :-p But it definitely completes the package.

yea his car was black now its primer grey. I think he goes by midnightriderz24 on some other website. He raced it, blew out a intercooler coupler, rigged it on and drove home. The best time he got all night was a 13.5.

I think that looks great. Only place I know of that makes custom underhood insulators for our car is this place.

http://carmotorsports.com/Underhood%20Insulators.htm

They have several designs you can choose from.

i think i saw in camaro performers, they lined the inside of a hood with this hood insulation material. it looked similar to dynamat, and i believe it was made by becool. it was different, but it looked pretty sweet to me.
