Before and After pics- let's see some amazing transformations
I'll call this thread Extreme Makeover- Thirdgen edition. It's corny, but you get the idea.
Whether it's engine bays, interiors, or entire cars... show off what you've accomplished on your projects! Mine is still in progress, like most cars are, but I have some results that I'm proud of already. Try to get the same angles in the before and after pics... it really shows how much has changed when they're compared to eachother. Both of my before pics are exactly how the car looked when I purchased it.
First is my engine bay:
Before:
After:
Interior (dash):

After(not really, but getting there):
Now let's see yours

In just over a year and a half, Tyra has gone from this:
to this:
New bumpers front and rear, frame straightening, new radiator and core support, new header panel, new grille, new rocker/bumper emblems, new parklamp/turnsignal lights and original IROC wheels.
Interior has gone from this:
to this:
Fourthgen ebony leather from a 2000 SS, black carpet, black door panels, recovered center console and replaced missing trim pieces among other things.
And shes nowhere close to being done. I just spent about $1000 on new suspension stuff, and I'll have another $1000-$1500 into her before April gets here.

wow, great work everyone! This thread is becoming a who's who of thirdgen.org. I think so far Mikez-28 and Camaroguy18 have the most dramatic turn-arounds. And AaronirocZ had the best looking f-body to start with. Tunedport335, you know I love your ride... some day we'll get a photoshoot with both of our cars when mine is done. Gunnyhighway, 18inchboyds and zephyr all kept it simple and classy to turn nice stock looking thirdgens into works of art and I have to give credit to my fellow platinum bird owner 82firebird... amazing work, you really have every aspect of your car matching so well.
Sorry if I missed anyone, they all look great and it's nice to see a plain old thirdgens made to look amazing. Keep em coming!

I bought my Firebird sight-unseen. This was what it looked like on day one. All the purple trim was painted black before I even test drove it:
The V6 (right before we pulled it out):
After the 383 swap & with some fine 90's wheels, this is what the car looked like for years:
Here is the engine currently:

I was soooo depessed that I didnt even look at the car for like 5 months until I came home from work and found my best freind ripping the car apart(he was also was my neighbor at the time). He wanted to see how bad it was with the sheet metal off. We decided that it was all cosmetic damage so 6 months later and alot of cash I didnt have it was all fixed and better than it was. It came pretty good for a guy who drives a truck(me) and a guy who lays carpet for a living.
The guy who hit me said he was going to help with $ to fix but I never seen a dime. I didnt use insurance because it happened at the track and most compainies wont cover you at the track.
It was the first run ever with slicks and I was a 1/2 second faster than I ever was at half track and I was hard on the brakes. IF I ever go back to the track the guy in the next lane will have at least a half track head start.
Thanks for the kind words about my car I take alot of pride in it.

Old and dirty TBI 305
LT1 that I just finished swapping over this week. The ugly chrome strap holding the ECU down will be painted soon.

A bad picture of my car when I bought it. It was completly stock at 127,000 miles. It even had the stock plugs and wires.

this os how i bought it....paint was neglected and wasn't driven for months,....just in and out of the garage with a for sale sign on it
so of course i dove into it like madman and started on the paint right away...after alot of hard work of getting it cleaned up...i was ended with this:
then last july some *** backed into the front of the car and did this work
so instead of just putting her back to stock 84 looks...i wanted to make my own look...so this is the look as it sits right now:
