Opinion on painting engine block/head White - PICS of WHITE Painted Block!
Take a look at where I am currently at on my rebuild. I have a white Iroc and was thinking of painting the block and heads white, take a look and give me your opinion please.

It would make your setup look unbelievably clean. Those new valve covers, new aluminum base, and a white painted block and heads would make that motor look great. Looks great already.

it wouldnt be as bad as black though. i remember this one time on here, this guy painted the entire thing this cast iron color, it was like a flat silver, and it looked really awesome.

The white would look good, and it would definitely be something different. But like the others said, it's gonna be hard to keep clean. But then, this doesn't look like your daily driver.

i think it would be cool and really hard to keep clean, but i also think that a black block with red heads would look killer to offset the white engine bay

It won't be that bad to keep clean. In some ways it will be better. White doesn't show waterspots like black does. You'll also easily see where/if any leaks occur.
Only real downside is if anything is sprayed on it that eats paint, you'll notice it alot easier then say black.

It is pretty much a daily driver. If I do the block and heads in White what color should the water pump be done in. The serpentine brackets will be aluminum in color like the intake has been redone to. I appreciate all the great comments and look forward to a few others.

Here are some pics. I only painted 1/2 the engine so far to make sure it isn't Fugly! Here are some pics
Here is one that shows with factory valve cover on right side and now paint.
Nothing is bolted together and the timing chain cover and pan are still loose. Still test fitting everything.
Let me know what you think.

that looks great, way to be different
Just my original reply would have been the whole keeping it clean deal...but just see how it goes. Let us know how the white paint holds up to all the dirt/grime.
