I saw an 84 trans am yesterday and he had a really sweet color. talked to the guy and he said it was a pontiac color. it was like a really dark gray and looked a little bit brown, but when the sun hit it, it looked like my gunmetal. it was so sweet. he said he just got it painted and he was thinking the name was called midnight sand. it was a stock firebird color he said. do any of you know of this color?

 

My 83Z had a paint name of (mid night sand drak matalic gray) I don't know if this came on a Trans am or not.

Interesting hood setup... any details on that?

 

To the hood set up off of a buick that has the hood that opens back wards and custom fit to the hood and car. Took a weekend and many more hours tweeking it into place but when all said and done all worked well and fit great.

The color is indeed Midnight Sand gray, there where 2 shade i want to say (at least for 84) RPO code I think was 82W, or 82E, maybe 82U not sure.

I went to look at a 84 Camaro Z28 that was that color the door jams and under the hood still the color, but somewhere it is life it got painted blue, and a cheap paint job to.

The color is indeed an awesome color, I kind of like it better than gunmetal.
