GTA wheels on IROC...4 fronts or 2 front & 2 rear...

I may buy GTA wheels for my car this spring. I really like the way the black ones look. I have heard they are lighter than the IROC wheels, is that true, not that it matters? If I bought four with no offset(fronts) how do you think they'll look? Wouldn't that give me a little more clearance in the back for wider tires? Will they stick out too far? Anyone have pictures? I guess they'll stick out 16mm(~5/8") farther on each side but I would like to see or hear how it looks first.

I used to own an 87 GTA and you couldn't change the rims around b/c the backspacing is different. The back rims are smaller than the front so you can't put two sets of fronts on your car. That was what I was told by my mechanic who works constantly on F-bodies, although he may be wrong.

If you put the rears on the front the tierods will rub the inside lip of the wheel making an unpleasant grinding noise and it'll knock off any wheel weights.

i would think that u could put 4 fronts on it , because my freind had a 86 Monte SS and he put on Iroc wheels, and to make them fit he had to use 4 fronts, now this is a g-body, but they have the same brake setup so i would think they would fit.

I have ARE 16x8's on my car and they all have the same off set. I believe there the same offset as the front GTA wheels. Don't Iroc's have front and rear wheels too? You could just try out your front wheels on the back of your car to see if they fit.

Hey all,
I just put on a set black GTA wheels on my car. The previous owner had the 89-90 IROC wheels on it. The GTA wheels are A LOT lighter than the IROC wheels. It does make a difference in aceleration. The engine has less mass to spin. IROC wheels have front and rears also. As for putting all four fronts on your car, I'm not sure. How big of a tire are you going to need? I have 245/50/16s all the way around. You could get 255s, but I would think if you want bigger for drag racing, then is a GTA wheel ideal for that?

When I had my stock Forebird wheels, I ran four fronts and the handling was quite a bit better. The look of the wider offset in the rear looked much more aggressive. Id say run the GTA wheels, but definetly run four fronts.
