ZR-1 Wheel and Tire Fittment?
I found this company that sells new ZR-1 style wheels (17x9.5 front and 17x11 rear) complete with Dunlop SP8000 rubber (275ZR40-17s front and 315ZR35-17s rear)mounted and balanced for $1648. What caught my interest particularly is the fact that they claim they are the only company to specially machine their wheels to be a direct bolt on to 84-87 corvettes. I was wondering if 84-87 corvette wheels are interchangeable with my wheels (16x8) without the use of spacers. If so, then the ZR-1 style would fit on my car without the use of spacers as well. Any help you guys can give me on this matter would be helpful, as I plan on stepping up to some bigger meats this summer, and for the price, this deal can't be beat.

Well, pardon my memory but I don't believe they will do what you want. When I bought my ZR-1 combo I looked into the exact same question and figured out what offsets you need vs what they were offering on EBAY.
The early C4 setup offers one offset, the ZR-1 originals offer another, and the "Grand Sport" is yet a third available offset. I settled on the Grand Sport setup and had minimal issues but do use 1.75 inch spacers in the front and a fourth gen rear.
My thinking is that the three available offsets are similar enough that they all require spacers. I don't know any exact numbers though because old age takes its toll.
Hope this helps.
