hmm interesting idea. i think i would have to see it on one, but i say go for it! i love it on 71 cudas, and the 2nd gens with it wouldnt look bad with it if there body wasnt yucky. make some air inlets in front, kinda like the cuda style.

glass T-tops
bone stock sloth of an engine LG4
T-5 tranny. thank god, i couldnt stand an LG4 auto.
Plans for an LT-1 or LT-4,
also plans for dual flowmaster exaust.
Got a corvette when i was 16, paid for it myself, screwed the engine up (idiot light didnt work, and i trusted the guy when he said he just changed the oil), and it turned into a project car.
now my TA is my daily driver. not a bad one, but it needs to be faster.

I saw one of those a few weeks ago. I didn't get a good look at it cause it was headed the opposite direction as me, but it definately had a different look to it.

I have a friend with a Bandit Firebird, which comes with this shaker scoop. It does look good, I say go for it. Just make sure it looks good and clean. A half-assed job will look absolutely terrible.

Mark406,
Way back in 1984, Ken Croce of H.O. Racing (a Pontiac Shop with race/street speed equipment) did just that on his 1983 (or 1982, I can't remember) red Trans Am. It looked pretty good. He also used a fiberglass hood. It was used on the cover of a Trans Am/Camaro magazine, showing the car in front of the Torrance, California Super Shops store. Maybe someone with the magazine can send you a photo of it.
Ken can still be reached on the internet, check out his webpage in the car mags! I know his company name is now H.O. Racing Enterprises.
I hope this helps,
George
P.S. I thought it looked cool!!!

I've always wondered why GM didn't put them on the 3rd gen birds. I guess in typical GM fashion they realized they had a good thing going and decided they have to go the opposite direction.
