My First Third Gen

Well here's my first third gen. Its a 82 Camaro. The pictures aren't very recent seeing as how I don't have a digital camera any more. The pics are on my CarDomain site.By the way I am only 16 years old.

that cam is huge for your set up. you should have bought a better intake setup before the cam. I'm 17 and have owned an 86 trans am and i now own a 87 iroc. these cars are way fun but like said before they can be a PIA, but then again so can any car.

Yeah, I know the cam is big. It used to have a better intake and carb along with better heads, but my mom overheated the engine and cracked the left head, and the intake also cracked.

I took some more pictures today, but I have to wait until I goto WalMart, so I can get them on a Kodak PictureCD.It will probably be around a week or so, and I will have new pictures.

Looks like the body is straight, and you have a good platform for the engine. Happy thirdgenning!

btw, I'm 19.

Would this be a pretty good setup, I talked it over with some others and they helped me come up with the plan but i would like other peoples opinions.

GM Vortech Heads
Edelbrock Performer RPM Vortech Intake
Edlebrock 600CFM Carb
Summit Cam 234*/234* .488"/.488"
Edlebrock TI-TECH Headers
Hooker Super Comp Cat-Back
K&N Xtreme AirFlow Air cleaner kit

Would this be good?Have any thing that should be exchanged?

If you are still going to be running that big of a cam, you are going to need a stall torque convertor if you don't have one already. I only have a .450 lift cam (see cam specs in sig) and I went ahead and got a TCI "sizzler" convertor which, IIRC, is 600-800 RPM over stock. You would probably be better off with TCI's "Saturday Night Special" with your setup.

I already have a 1800 or 2000 stall, would that be good enough or would I need something greater?

Ah yes, the good ole days of being a teenager and owning that cool thirdgen. I look forward to seeing what you do to it assuming you keep it that long. I definately don't know many that own pre 87s let alone an 82.

Here's the link to the car domain site again. I updated it, so you can see what it looks like now instead of what it looked liked last year.

I hear that Holley carbs are better. And you really can't beat a set of Hooker headers. But it looks pretty good. Good luck. Have fun. Drive safe.

I'm 16 too.
