Black Paint with pearl??
Im looking to get a new paint job. The guy im speaking with thinks that adding a purple pearl to the black with make the car deeper. Im just wondering if anyone has any pics of any black car with any pearl paint added to it. So far i have seen a black car with black pearl in it, which was just some flaks in the paint it seemed. I want to know what the purple pearl looks like on a black paint job. Also i wanted to see what blue pearl, or even red pearl would look like added to a black base?? Thanks i been searching havent found what im looking for quite yet.

Red pearl in black looks awesome. You end up with a black cherry color that looks like a REALLY dark burgundy. Ford uses a similar color on some newer vehicles, might be able to go to a dealer and look it up.

I have some white pearl in my black paint. It's really an insignificant amount and you can't tell in pictures. When the sun hits it right you can see an extra little glimmer though. Where I got it painted they showed me a book with chips and I picked the one with the least amount of pearl in it...I'm gonna get it painted again in the future and I think I'll go with a little more pearl, the more white pearl the more grey it looks though. I originally wanted blue pearl on mine, I wanted a little blue to show when the light hit it, but they said blue with black would make it look purple. Oh and I had Dupont paints used on my car just in case you were wondering.

Thanks for the input Well the searching i have done showed me that the red pearl in the car in the sun makes it look purple(ish) also lol. I was thinking blue too, but if it looks purple..... I think i might do blue anyhow just have the guy not put too much pearl in.

From what I hear, black is a hard color to put pearl on but it can be done. You have to do it very lightly or else it will ruin the effect.

Ghost flames, ghost stripes, you could go in any direction. I'm sure theres some pics on this board of some different paintjobs with pearl in them. I think 91NiteRida has blue or violet pearl over his black paintjob.... it looks sweet.
PS i have white pearl on mine

Black paint with Pearl
Matt, Check out Honda's black, color code B92P, ( I know, I know ) it is black with blue pearl in it. Very nice effect that most don't even know it has blue pearl in it until shown. LOL Hope this helps. Dave

Cool, i didnt know any manufactor made that color. That helps alot. Has anyone seen this color in person? You said most people dont know that its even there, which is about how much of a effect i would like, i dont want to take away from the black. I think i might go to a honda dealership and go ask to see this color in person today. Thanks for the tip

Matt,
If you want a deep color black, just get a black paint job...don't go with any pearl or any fancy ish like that.
I am going to be re-painting my car soon, and will paint it BMW black. I have done some research, and BMW black is by far the best I have seen.
Just my thoughts...

BMW has two black colors, Jet black and a black with metal flake in it, I can't remember the name. Their Jet Black cloor is very nice and deep, I'll agree. Also VW has a cool black color with what looks like white pearl it's called Black Magic...that is how I wanted my car to look, but I didn't get enough pearl. I think it only came in the R32 GTIs, but I can't remember, you might want to check out the VWs too just so you can see.
