if you are worried about what it will look like from inside the car (being able to see of course) then simply measure 5 inches and cut a piece of cardboard and slap it on your hood to see what it looks like, as far as looks, just do a search for 5" scoops on the site and i am sure you will come up with a bunch...

thats an awful big scoop , it might look funny if you dont back it up with and engine and some wide tires and rims . If you gave us a pic i could get a better idea of what you could do to put it off.

My Novas got a 4 inch cowl and i dont have any vision problems and along with the motor being visiable from standing behind or next to the car,a lopey cam and mean exaust note i think its fitting. But a 5 inch non-funcitioing scoop is overskill simply put

4" and up is just plain too big imho, it does not blend with the car at all.

Unless you intend to fill those 5" with some engine, don't bother. Looks kinda funky. In my opinion anyway.

i seen a few 5 inch cowls hoods up close and they dont look too bad once laying on the ground, but on the car and painted, they are huge. 5 inch is too big i believe. especially if the car doesnt have the rest of the supporting mods to go with the "speed/power" implied by the big hood. like roll cage, big slicks and a tunnel ram

I asked your girlfriend and guess what she said...YES...so she's dumping you for me.

LOL... sorry man, had to....

To answer your question, 5" is WAY too big IMO...anything over the low 1.5"- 2" is too big for a hood IMO...

I'm thinkin about a 502 suckin through a dual quad tunnel ram, that would be a reason to go 5 inches.

personally I don't like cowls higher than 2" anything more and it just looks like a big box on your hood.
