updated pics of car with new hood! lots of pics!

hope to get the hood painted soon, but unfortunately, i don't see it happening for at least another month. but here are some new pics of the car, let me know what you think about it. the hood is a 3" Champion Fiberglass Products peice and looks ALOT like the cervini's hood.

just did this a few days ago:

it's hard to tell exactly how long those marks are in the pics, but they are pretty close to being 250' long. it was a brake torque through the top of first and climing in second when i let of the brake and let it ride at ~5700rpm in second till i was doing about 40mph, then let off, coulda kept going but the road turned ahead. not bad for a 305....

yep, 275/60/15's out back, mighty big, i like em that way! hood was $428.57 boxed and shipped to my door in one week. quality is very good. wouldn't say excellent, but very good, especially since the hood was only $300 by itself.

fitment went really smooth. a little bit of time to adjust but it turned out pretty great. i initially wanted to utilize the stock latch, but there really isn't much material where the latch bar attaches to the hood, so i went for some hood pins, which i think actually look pretty good. this is the only issue i have with the hood as far as the quality. it was really dusty when i got it too, but that cleaned up pretty easily.

I just love Cervinis hoods. I have one on my car. I am using the stock latch, and it seems to work pretty well. I really like your hood pins though. It looks more muscle and matches your white lettered tires, no spoiler, no ground effects look. I like it. When you get it painted, it will be sharp.

hmmmm, absolutetly not! this car is a SPORT COUPE! everyone puts gfx on these cars, i don't want them! i personally think that this car looks great with this hood. when i get the car painted, it will look really good. it's getting a set of Centerline Telstars 15x4 up front 15x8 in the back soon.

TraviZ28: thanks for the compliments! we see eye-to-eye on this one! the hood isn't a Cervini's though, it just looks like it. it's actually made by a company called Champion Fiberglass Products.

that hood flows pretty well with that car . It looks decent with the 3 holes in the nose . Do you plan to paint it red or put a stripe in it ?

yeah your right, we will have very similar cars, and steal away, this hood is incredible! they made another one up the same time they made mine so they have one in stock. www.championfiberglassproducts.com is the url for their website. check it out man!

oh, i am painting the whole car red and i am going to play with black accents here and there. i am doing something with stripes but am refraining from disclosing that info just yet. it's an idea i DO NOT want stolen! LOL!

these are the wheels i am getting, keeping the current back tires and putting some 165/15's up front with the white letter facing in so you can't see them.

well, after a few weeks with it off, i am putting the spoiler back on the car, i thought it would look good with the hood if i didn't have the spoiler, well, it just looks outta place to me now. so, i will get some better pics with the feshly painted, non-thirdbrakelight spoiler some time next week.

Graboid, it does look a little high in the front huh? well, it's got v6 springs in the front with a v8 in it. i have been thinking about lowering the front, but i don't know how without upsetting the weight transfer capabililty.

not to be rude or anything, but how much weight transfer do you need to run in the 13s? i think a set of 17s and some sportlines would make it look nice. even without the gfx.

and let me tell ya man, this car will always be in the 13's too huh...

when being a competitive drag racer, you always want as much weight transfer as possible. this car is not by any means set up to handle turns. did you see the exhaust in the pic? i don't think it will clear with 17's and sportlines. besides, i don't really know if there is a 28" tire for 17's, it's got 4.10's in it so it needs those big tires. i am also very confident that this motor will net me LOW 13's n/a by just doing the tranny/converter upgrade late this spring. it looks like high 12's n/a with a cam/head swap. and it's still a 305 and still driven everyday, and i haven't thrown every last penny that i have in her to get her that way!

Looks much better with the hood. Looks like my harwood. If there was an easy, cheap way to ship mine i would of sold it to u. Im getting a 4". The telstars are sweet. They will look awesome. Are u using v6 springs yet?

it's got v6 springs all the way around, it was originally a v6 car. hey, and if you decide to sell your draglites before i get my telstars, i want them. i am just looking for cheap wheels right now that look better than my stockers, and i definitely want fatties/skinnies.
