Clear front headlight covers!
I found the part number buried in an old post, and since I just ordered them, I figured I'd post the #'s!
Summit link:

Part number:
GTS-GT0101C
The only place I had ever seen them on Camaro's was in the Japanese pictures. Well, now you can join in on the fun! lol

Well, when I put my blackouts on, I actually followed the directions, and I never had a problem with them. They fit nice and tight and never came off.
The trick is to use alcohol to clean the surface before sticking the holders on. Also make sure it's a warmish day, and let them cure for at least a day before driving.

I was not reffering to the actual method of attaching, but about the hardware used. I HATE the idea of double-sided stick taping anything to my car that I will have to remove in the future for show purposes...or if I just get sick of them. Unfortunately the way our headlights buckets are formed, this is the only way to attach them....that I can see.

I just sold my mint condition, brand new set a few weeks ago on here. I had them for 5yrs and decided to just leave them off of the car due to the fact of the mounting style. Maybe the new owner will chime in with some pictures for you to see.

I've gone through 5 sets of covers due to them flying off so I'm making my own set of clear covers from plexiglass from Home Depot. I came up with a bracket system that should keep them on at high speeds. The brackets are being painted flat black to blend them in. This is the diagram for the brackets. I'll post pictures when I'm done.

Here's the covers and the brackets. The covers aren't scratched, that's the plastic film on them.

Hey Tim, when you get them on, post up a pic if you could. I always wanted to see them bolted up to a dark colored car like mine. Thanks

how did you attach the bottom two on each side? screw through the bumper cover?
Get them Bolts nice and black too Turned out great, I may try to build my own pair now that you've inspired me. I'm definately going to make 2 sets one clear one smoked. I think it would be awesome. Smoked look good but cops and hindering the light output are the cons. Clear don't look quite as great but you can see your headlight conversions (if you've done them) and they still increase the aerodynamic qualities of the camaro. while protecting the lights.
Would Plexi or Lexan be better? plexi you can buff scratches out easier right? but lexan won't break or bend as much.
One last question what size plexi did you use 1/4?
I smell a write up or tutorial coming up soon.

I love the thirdgen body style, not much to improve upon. But the headlights could use a tasteful upgrade like you have done. If someone were to make, a drop in lighting upgrade. like you have done, with clear or slightly smoked covers. That fit flush, with a set of projectors. I would buy them, something like the new C6 vettes.
You better watch it going over the Gandy that fast, Tampa PD will be all over you. They got me once going over the howard franklin.
I would like to see those in person some time. I live in Clearwater drive thru Tampa everyday to work. Cant wait til they finish 1-4 thru the junction.
Anyways good job on the lights!
What did you use for the projectors? Where did you get them?

If you want enclosed projector lamps, do a search for 300zx headlights. It has been done before. One I can remember was a "Star Trek" Camaro. It came out nice as hell, the lights that is, not the car. Other than that, making something would be completely custom due to the size of the headlight buckets.

If anyone wants me to make them a set just PM me. I think $45 is reasonable for a set of clear covers that will never fly off again unless you forget to bolt them down of course. Please allow 2 weeks for delivery.
I forgot to mention shipping is $8.00. All sales are final. Also keep in mind that for these headlight covers to stay put you have to screw the bottom brackets into the bumper. I plan on keeping these on there forever unless of course I take them off to wash them. If you want any more info on the type of headlights I used, you can find them here http://pilotautomotive.com/pilot2ac3.htm

is the spade termials an extra thing to get or it comes with the fog lights?
I think im going to order those lights today at autozone. all you did was just take out your old lights and put in the fog lights right or did you make a special case for them?

i have a design that i made awhile back but i dont have access to the tools to produce them. It's more up 406tpi's alley easily removable for show's. I'm gonna go to the local high school where one of my old teachers will let me use the tools so i can show you my design. Although i do like your design alot also pwdbychevy. But what if someone decided they wanted those covers? all they have to do is unscrew them. that was a plus of the gts's with the bend at the top to screw into the bracket so that the hood had to be up for them to come off. my design utilizes this. Now i just need to get some quarter turn fasteners.

Dayum, that's a lot for screws! Can't imagine the process is any different than normal screws!
I know what you mean about working 10 hours a day! It sucks!

The instructions look great. A little confusing, but that's most likely because I don't have the covers in my hands! I can't wait!!
